Yeah the first time I played I came upon the two guys standing behind the fifth tee and either ran over them with my cart or punched one of them. Either way I got a "mission failed" and had to play again.

The next round I didn't realize the bridge behind the 4th green doesn't actually span the pond, so my cart plunged straight down into the water. I had to exit the cart to avoid drowning and walk the rest of the round since it didn't re-spawn. The 9th hole kind of goes back by the pond so I went over there and it was still bobbing in the water, heh.

The course isn't itself enjoyable enough to play for fun but I guess there's some options after the first round in which you can play against competition, presumably for $$$, and as you get stronger apparently you can hit the ball farther which should mean -9 or even lower is a possibility.

Separately: I unintentionally found a bug of sorts regarding losing stars which I haven't seen posted explicitly. I was on a mission where you jack a cop car and have to fade the heat. This drug on for quite some time, way out of the city. My car was so beat up - running on rims and tailpipe dragging - that a stiff breeze would have set it on fire. Eventually I ended up down in a riverbed but no cops came down after me, instead following on the adjacent road. I stopped under a bridge and waited...and they gave up, including the helicopter.

Felt like cheating, particularly since it wasn't much of a hiding spot, but I guess getting out of everyone's sight for a period of time is what matters even if common sense dictates they should know where you are.

That isn't a mission. All the characters safe houses are their own color.

Yeah each character has their own color-coded garage they can store vehicles in. The Grove Street Garage is Franklins.

Thanks this was confusing me for a bit since their houses aren't color coded. I realized what it was when I switched to Michael and he had a purple or whatever garage near his place.

I gotta start paying better attention in this game ... No idea on garages ... And that other stock market needing internet makes sense

Love the progression from jumping on top of the house to robbing the gas station across the street as a potential way to get the mission to start.

Also, are there any businesses that only Trevor can purchase?

Im about 35 hours in with 20 missions left, but I think with all the stuff I haven't even done or seen I've barely scratched the surface of this game. Already so looking forward to my second play through.

Being a solitary gamer mostly I'm not that hyped about online so I'll be a late starter to that side.

I bought the hangar with Trevor - do you actually get passive income from that or does it not pay itself off until you do X number of shipments? Seems pretty dumb to make you blow $150k on that thing that won't pay off until you do 30 (!!!) of the cut-and-paste buggy missions (the plane ones are more fun I guess but take so much longer) so I certainly hope it's the former.

Bought the Los Santos Customs in the Grand Senora Desert. Customized an Infernus and was driving it back to Franklin's garage in Davis when a blue dot appeared on the radar. I slowed down and it was a prisoner in an orange jumpsuit hiding in the bushes on the side of a dirt road. He opened the lambo door, threw me out of the car, got in and sped away with my customized ride. Good thing I spent $350k to help prisoners escape in stylish cars!

Wish they'd fix the car saving thing. I had two custom cars and theyve both disappeared.

Some people think this has something to do with using auto-save.

The cops in this game are easily confused by any sort of offroading, mountaineering, or swimming, especially if you dive underwater to lose the helicopter. So don't do those things while being chased if you want to play fair. I don't, so it's either up into the mountains or down into the water any time I've got more than 2 stars. 4 stars is still a challenge I guess but 3 is pretty lol if there's open countryside or a body of water nearby.

After winning an offroad race (all forms of racing other than the normal car races are super easy imo), I was told Michael's wardrobe now included the Moto X outfit (or whatever it was called). Wanted to have him go around in his racing outfit at all times like a huge dork, so went to the safehouse to change clothes but it wasn't available.

Had the Bugatti. Crashed and died on the way to the garage...

If I have 2 or 3 stars and can't seem to shake the cops, I just get out of whatever car I'm driving and start walking around. If the chase started while you were in a car, they seem to only look for the car.

If you get out of the cops sight, you can just switch cars.

Man I haven't spent much time in the wilderness areas so my sample size is small but I had a small confrontation escalate to 3 stars out near the base of mt chilad and couldn't shake the cops no matter what I did. I was driving up and down these little dirt paths, going completely off path and tried jumping in a river but the cops were just everywhere always spawning in front of me and all up on my ass, it was really annoying.

We've had different experiences then. If I recklessly drive up the mountainside, assuming it's not so steep I can't get up there, I tend to lose the cops pretty easily. This works with just average cars too, doesn't have to be anything special. Don't worry about driving crazy and launching yourself airborne either, the cars in this game can take quite a beating.

Anyway if that doesn't work, go for a swim and give your character practice holding his breath if there's a helicopter around.
