Meh when open world games get to a certain size the interesting-factor starts going down. Look at Just Cause 2, fantastic game (my fav of this generation and in top 10 of all time so far so I'm really not hating) and fantastic world but take out the fun para gliding way to get around and you just have this massive place that looks kinda the same everywhere with an interesting thing here and there. I'm pretty sure JC2 was developped with a fraction of the GTAV budget, so there's deff more possibilities than that game showed, but at one point you're going to start sacrificing interesting-factor over size if you keep expanding a world. I'd rather they go for a good balance between the two than just make a massive world and re use everything 10s of times.

I wonder if everything will be open from the start. I hope not, always liked that kind of stuff in GTA games it's like switching discs for old RPGs, it really doesn't make a difference and it is basicly the same as dividing the game into chapters, yet it was so fun to have to insert a new disc, just like it's so fun to unlock new areas .

for GTA 5, the entire map is open from the start, no need to unlock the next area.

fwiw, im also concerned GTA 5 has gone too big too soon and will be very difficult to find time to fully experience the game, there's literally so much to do.

I'm more concerned with how well the consoles will handle it. It's almost like you'll have to have a brand new, souped up console to play it without glitches galore.

Maybe though. I have no knowledge of what consoles are capable of at all.

yeah, I don't have class until 11am that day. might just go on a bender and play from midnight to 1030am then zombie it up on coffee and redbulls to make it through class.

I herd you can full disc install so your disc doesn't have to spin during playing, full game install will be 15 gigabytes

Pretty sure everyone with an older console will have to do that if you don't want mass glitches

or maybe I'm underestimating my PS3, but I always feel like the disk reader is like on the verge of dying.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, this is making me rethink if I wanna get a 16gb flash drive or a 32gb. Might as well get the 32gb now...just for this freaking game. It'll be sooooo worth it though.

I posted about that issue earlier ITT. It's such a gigantic missed opportunity, considering they could have made 1 of 3 characters a woman and not ruffled too many misogynist feathers or hurt sales. There are also so many more fresh and interesting narrative possibilities with a woman character than with the standard C.J. and Tony Soprano clones.

It's not like people are going to start saying "that game's protagonist should be a woman!" for every game. The issue here is that there have now been 15+ GTA playable characters, and in this particular case 3 at the same time, with 0 of them having been women. Add other Rockstar games and you're like 0/25+.

Imo whole gender equality discussion is nonsense because the fact that there are double standards make it that they aren't equal.

If 10/15 board members are females males will be like lol wait until they all have their periods together and run the company into the ground and laugh about it, but when 10/15 are male some stupid women will say how the company doesn't support women... Pretty much the same thing here. If it were 3 females we'd all be like this ****'s going to be weird but none of us would be like 'rockstar doesn't support males'...

(I realise that history has given a real reason for a bias to exist, but imo thinking like that is bull**** and counter productive, once things are equal stuff will eventually find the optimal balance, if that balance is unfavourable to women, that just means currently women are less suited for that market.)
