Re: GTA V Trailer - November 2nd, 2011

That would be an awesome feature but given the nature of GTA (being able to run over a 100 people in 2 minutes) it seems a little useless.

I could see it working with "special/high profile" NPC's though, e.g. when stealing a Securicar -- the driver must be disposed.

Re: GTA V Trailer - November 2nd, 2011

I'm guessing no Las Venturas or San Fierro in the main game, but each one in it's own DLC.

Also, one thing I'd like them to snag from Saints Row is the "bonuses" for doing anything illegal. Even driving on the wrong side of the road. Just gives you a bit of something else to aim for when you're playing. It was a blast to drive as fast as you can, see a group of people, and dive out of the car and see how many points you got.

GTA 5 looks better than PS4 exclusives, I have to wonder if those screenshots are from high end PC renders.

Was thinking the same. Some of those screens and scenes in the trailers can't be 360/PS3.

it will be interesting what they do regarding DLC/expansions, since PS3=>PS4 port will be superhard for a game like GTAV. Maybe PS3=>PC=>PS4 isn't too hard and they will do that eventually.

Thumbs up Re: GTA V Trailer - November 2nd, 2011

Thanks for those who recommended some of the older GTA's..

Loving GTA 4. About 25% complete after 13hrs or so..

Not sure why some people hate it, would agree it's not quite up to VC but still really good.

Only complaint is that there are still the really hard missions that involve a 5 minute+ drive just to get there if you restart..

An Irish comedian actually did a short stand up routine and mentioned the 'commuting' in GTA4!

Also had a classic GTA moment I remembered fondly from VC..

Just completed a really hard mission that had taken me quite a few tries, trying to get away from the cops and lose my wanted level..

end up getting rammed by a cop car and get stuck between him, a wall and a lamp post unable to get out..cop walks up to bust me, I think 'sh*t I'm gonna have to do the whole sh*ting thing again!' ..

then bam!!! a cop car thunders into us from nowhere and sets me free!!

See you later suckers!!!

Re: GTA V Trailer - November 2nd, 2011

lol

im replaying gta4 now, and using cheat codes. after playing for about 10 hours over the last week, i just realized the cheats save in your phone and you dont need to manually redial the number every time u need it.

only problem im having is theres only one set of guns, despite trying multiple codes. am i missing something? i want to use the ak but dont feel like buying it*/driving around scooping up the free ones.

*driving to the gun stores suck every time you're low on ammo. between that and the useless phone calls to hang out, it'd really suck up time.

Never understood why they never made a GTA based off the Midwest cities of Chicago/Detroit/St Louis with a ton of farm land between them and Lake Michigan

Re: GTA V Trailer - November 2nd, 2011

Well it sounds boring. That may have to wait for Grand Theft Auto: U.S. You still get that farmland in San Andreas, could get it with Liberty City, plus many other places that have main cities more interesting than Midwest cities.

To me the most exciting prospect is a Vice City that would include swamps, Disney-esque theme parks (big ones), the Keys, etc. Either that or GTA: Hill Valley with several different time periods. Yea but seriously, we should see a time-traveling open-world game with a BTTF feel in the not-too-distant future right?

That would be really epic. Even after playing the game for months (years?) you'd still discover new locations

Re: GTA V Trailer - November 2nd, 2011

Ahhh, massive gta maps. I can only dream. I dream of long GTA road trips. In an RV or a motorcycle through the deserts of ca/az. At night the skies would absent of light pollution and I would see the stars. I dream of running low on fuel and having to fill up at the gas station, followed by blowing the place up via rocket launcher.

Driving through corn fields and boating through swamps.

I would have safe houses on the tallest skyscrapers, and on the nicest beaches. I'd play golf at the country club, and swim in the ocean. I'm not a winter type, but I'd prolly even head up north for some snowmobiling.

Think about it this way, going from gta 1 to gta 5 is a much bigger step than gta 5 to gta usa.

Re: GTA V - releases September 17

cant believe gtav has a $150 special edition. can they expect to sell many copies of that with the next gen consoles being released shortly after gta's release?

i know i wont spend more than the $60 normal copy. the guys at gamestop were practically begging me to pre order it too, just so i could get a freakin' wall poster. but then again, ive never pre-ordered any game. why pre order it if i have to go out to buy it anyways? i can dl a dig copy right from psn.

Re: GTA V - releases September 17

This video says the game will come in two discs for the xbox 360. One is an install disc and the other is the game disc. The install disc will put 8 gigs of data on your xbox harddrive. What about the people who have the 4 gig xbox 360 model, like me?

lol me, I know. Am I SOL?

edit: looks like I can get a external flash drive formatted for xbox use. But still... Kind of annoying. I gotta keep the flash drive stuck in my xbox at all times just to play this game?
