How can you think that map is correct/complete? The city FADES into the country, and the whole thing looks very patched together.

yeah map is nowhere near correct, there are way too many possibilities and from the screenshots its very difficult to accurately create something that could resemble gta 5.

would have been much easier to try and create a city map.

i just tried to piece something together, the blueprint like map posted itt actually looks reasonable given the screenshots that have been released so far.

The only problem i had is trying to figure out where to put Mt. Chiliad and what the large mountain in the background (north of vinewood) of some Los Santos screenshots actually was -- whether or not it was Mt. Chiliad basically.

Another issue i had was where the desert/countryside would be but overall that image like i said, is reasonable, just some scaling issues and i think the overall 'direction' of LS seems off.

some notes i took

cluster of skyscrapers in city centre

- screenshot shows a mission on a bank called _aze bank.
- there's an FIB building near that (FBI/police?)
- 1 skyscraper is under construction
- 1 town called Sandy Shores (i think its on a lake/ocean to the north east)
- 1 desert town that seems to be north west, its past suspected mt chiliad
- south of LS seems similar to that of SA, ferris wheel/piers/beach gyms etc
- china/korea town
- dock is much larger, huge river with freight ships, also huge bridge that looks similar to san fierro --> desert bridge.
- East los santos is similar, grove street/ballas/ghettos etc.

we don't know anything about the full map yet, but I think the one posted above will look nothing like it. Expect much more small villages and many more rivers etc, and a lot more roads. All very stylistic Rockstar-ish things that I don't see disappearing.

this isn't true, there's been a lot of info released and many screenshots that can help build a map. plus it's based on LA/los santos so there's already a template in place and screenshots confirm certain similarities (vinewood/the beach etc).

ofc there will be many more towns, the city will be much larger too but the map is a good general idea. if you look through the screenshots it makes sense as well.

that looks similar to mine except the dam should be north of vinewood so further west.

also im sure there's supposed to be a mountain, whether its mt. chiliad or not im not sure which both maps seem to leave out :/. screenshots suggest there is as well.

+1. Kinda surprised Sony/MS didn't throw a ton of money at them to make it next gen and exclusive on their platform for like a month or something. That's the kind of game that would move TONS of consoles. And large open-world games stand to benefit a lot from the extra performance/memory on next-gen more so than most games.

Yeah. Imagine Sony's or Microsofts press conference ending with an GTA V on next gen exclusive.
Would pretty much win the war right then, and no one would care about any other features. But hey, at least we have watch dogs which seems to be GTA...ish.

Rockstar doesn't do exclusives I don't think, not when it comes to the GTA series at least.

GTA IV was actually the first one in the series to be released simultaneously on both platforms. San Andreas was released on PS2 eight months before Xbox.

GTA 4 came out on 360 first.
