That's not the official map, though it could be correct. That's all the pieces released so far that someone put together. I'm curious to see how accurate it is.

its already been said GTA 5 will be 5 times the size of GTA:SA and 3.5x the size of RDR or vice versa.

it was also said by a reviewer who went to a demo viewing type thing that it took 15 minutes to get from the city center to the countryside.

Love the countryside, that's what I loved about RDR and disliked about GTA4. I wonder if there will be RDR callbacks in the wilderness.

I hated the countryside tbh, although I loved the fact that there were three cities, I just saw the countryside as a necessary buffer between them.

The first time, yes. Then when you were forced to do all those hillbilly missions, it got tiresome going from redneck town to redneck town with nothing but ****ty cars surrounding you-IMO.

The only thing that tilted me was when you crashed your nice car and got stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Then nothing but tractors would spawn and it would take forever to find something fast enough to get back to the city.

Hopefully with the features GTA4 introduced that won't be that big a problem. Taxi's, call a friend to pick you up, etc. I'm sure you will never have to make the drive again after the first time if you don't want to.

You will enjoy those long rides more though if you stay on...THE DUST.

Can't wait for this game.

Better even than "skipping" the ride would be switching characters at that point. The one you leave will get back to civilization on his own.

Yea IIRC it was kinda confirmed. You'll switch to a new character and find him* in a random weird/hilarious (well, nerd "hilarious") situation. They go on with their lives.

*Seems like a bad mistake to have not included a woman as one of the 3. Opportunity missed to bring in new audience without alienating the pieces of **** who would get their boxers in a bunch about a solo woman character. If one of the DLCs doesn't have a woman protag it's a travesty.

i haven't played a GTA since SA on ps2, but this thread has me hyped up to buy this. I'm sure i'll play it for 10 hours and never touch it again like every game i've bought over the last few years, but it will be worth it.

There's no way that is even close to the complete map. It looks like it was finagled into one, but no way is that it. RS is so secretive that I'm thinking this is a very small chunk of it.

i think the scale is off, like the city could be 4x the size it is on that map, the small towns should be much smaller in comparison to the city too.

i think that map may be correct. The scale is obv. smaller than the SA map posted below it. Based on the city block sizes, the main city in 5's map looks like it would take up a full 1/2 of the SA map. That would make the full map ~5x bigger or so.

kind of silly how it looks like the smaller towns are really small, but i always loved dicking around in the country in SA.
