I think ~5 is the sweet spot for most street races. definitely prefer traffic on most courses if it's less than that and traffic in bike races up to almost full parties.

Also activated catch up in combination with slipstream too OP in nice, competitive races imo.
Is the effect pretty much the same for 2nd through last? Definitely seems like 2nd is always gaining on me unproportionally to driving performance and the other way around (from well outside of slipstream distance). No problem with people actually in/near the back getting a boost.

I guess catch up (again, only talking about sessions where you know most players are pretty much equal in racing skill. fine with catchup in uneven races/races against randoms) activated makes sense in somewhat larger races especially with traffic to even out variance. haven't played with traffic that much yet.

for the last few days i couldn't fire the rockets in a jet-race or car-GTA-races
Which button is it again? i tried x or L1 but nothing happened although i collected the rockets


Edit: survival has 10 waves, cashes you ~20k and has actually a trophy for completing

I had just assumed survival goes to infinity until you die. Only survived through 9 so far.

The assisted /auto aim just seems like it kills any kind of decent deathmatch play. When do u get the option to steal cars and sell them? What level?

Pretty sure you can sell stolen cars right away. Certain cars aren't eligible tho. Like nice sports cars.

this is probably going to seem ignorant and i admit i'm a pretty big gta newb but is there other 'stuff' to do online besides racing, last team standing, and the exact same 'missions' over and over where you hunt down a car with drugs and return it somewhere? am i just not far enough along in the online mode (lvl ~10) that i'm restricted to these things over and over?

maybe i was naive in thinking online mode would also consist of story-like missions that you could do co-op. so far it seems pretty repetetive.

also i'm mostly playing with randoms which might be why my experience so far has been pretty meh. i've only teamed up with 1 friend and we ended up in huge lobby's and not even really playing together.

(with that said is there an xbox crew!?)

I've found doing survival one of the most fun things so far when done with friends. They start at around level 16. Also there are going to be heists available at some point. Anyone know when they're meant to be starting?

Exactly, I think the great thing about GTA 5 especially online is the only limitation is yourself.

Yesterday I was chasing a guys bounty to the airport eventually finding a way in - he made his way to the titan (huge military airplane) though I tried to blow him outta the sky it failed. So on my way out I grab the buzzard attack chopper and spot another bounty in the city so proceed to attack them, eventually landing on a building nearby. The bounty and his buddy get out of their car but before they can do anything I land an inch perfect sticky bomb from the rooftop killing the bounty, leaving his buddy shooting at the choppa as I make a swift getaway into the hills.

Are there any good guides with mission overviews and what level they unlock at? I just started and everything feels kind of random. Also, are there any death matches where you have more than one life?

keep inviting ppl if you start jobs, esp. if you have to steal a tanker, one guy steals the tanker and the other start chaos with the police to get their attention away from the tanker that he can lose his cop-stars

Ok, finally figured out how to make better use of the jobs, a lot of you from the PS3 crew probably already know, but it should really improve things for those who don't and are looking for good co-op missions.

Gives you a nice overview of all the jobs. Martin's, Lester's and Ron's are the good ones, but it probably works the same way for the rest.
Once you reach the level needed for the first job of each perosn they'll start calling you . Complete that first job and you should be able to just call them unter contacts to request an instant job, rather than wait ages for them to contact you. It's going to be chosen somewhat randomly from all the jobs whose level you've reached. Jobs aren't done forever once you complete them once as host.
It's possible you have to be the host, the one accepting the inital job request, for this to unlock, because I joined someone else in Martin's first job early on and hadn't unlocked the job requests, but probably had more to do with level being too low.

Rejecting the job requests from the other contacts rather than just ignoring them should speed up the process.
This is all just for starting. Players from all levels are able to join.

The "star" missions on the map unlock through the levels (though you can select them over the voting screens during sessions before that). Can't really find a good overview, they add up pretty fast. Hover over the icons on the map to see which level the unlocked at.

There are real deathmatches, yeah. Team and free for all. They're the skulls on the map, but it's quicker to just join them over your phone -> quick join -> deathmatch, if you're going to play randoms anyway.

Survivals (love them when you have a good squad that works together) unlock at lvl 15. Gang attacks (run into a red highlighted area and kill one of them to start, vs. CPU unfortunately) at lvl 18.
Important weapons: micro smg 5, SMG 11, snipe 21, lvl 24, STICKY BOMB 19

Started out with free aim, because it made SP great and I actually assumed it was the only option at the time. Hard to pass up assisted when everyone else is using it.
We should start some free-aim only crew deathmatches.

G0tGame, I may be wrong but I think if you're using free aim in sp, it only puts you in free aim lobbies in mp.

That would be awesome.
IIRC I actually changed the aim from menu in SP once I realized it wasn't the only option, not sure.

Is the drop ammo/weapons feature working for anyone?

Actually I can confirm that's how it works. Yesterday when I played with another 2+2er, they were using aim assist and it made me change my settings before I could join the game.
