You have to be rank 15 to get a mission from Gerald called Violent Duct. You can play it with 1-4 players but only the host has to be rank 15, it doesn't matter what rank the other players are. Once you figure out the quick way to do it the mission lasts 2-3 mins and you get 9K and a decent amount of RP. After the mission has finished, press A to like and then spam RT to restart. After the patch they disabled replaying the mission from the lobby screen so if you run out of ammo theres an ammunation down the road from where the mission starts.

I've made about 600K doing this in about 3 hours.
Your welcome

Is everyone really done with single player? I feel I've barely scratched the surface and am looking forward to the considerable amount of hours I've still to invest in it.

So my character was missing today as well. But my first character was only level 5, accidentally made my 2nd one in slot 1 again, so might be screwed. Gonna probably make another one.

I didn't get the game until the end of Sept or whenever it was. I'm only about 60%ish complete and the game continues to get better and better.

I've been having a good balance between the main mission, side missions, random running around, and the other fun things you can do in the game.

I started again lol, really need to get it finished cos soon as I'm fully online I don't think I'll touch SP again. Jonesing to get on and cause some havoc with the xbox crew.

Bennyquack - did you get a bad sport warning for blowing up that guys car? The pic I posted of the dude with the dunce hat was what happened when he took some sticky bombs to someones car, dunno how many he wrecked though, R* gave him the hat and kicked him into bad sport servers for two days, couldn't even play with friends in private matches, so beware

There's a poll on GTA Forums asking whether or not people have had their character deleted.

305 yes / 104 no so far.

just dont create another char or continue playing when the cloud-servers go down, cause then it overwrites aswell

servers went down 9-11am and 6-7 pm ET this weekend, which is now hehe, so i am off

Re: GTA V - Online Now (semi)Availible

Re. the character deletion: one thing i've done is to print screen the socialclub page which shows how much cash and the level I should have there. That doesn't totally solve the problems as it seems when the cloud goes down you can carry on playing for hours accumulating cash and not have it saved as the storing server is down but it's a fail safe basically if your character genuinely is deleted when the servers come back up. At the moment my character has disappeared so i'm going to printscreen and hope it reappears when they're back up again.

I don't understand why people who've had a level 30 with 250k cash for example have created new characters in the original slots and then cry about it, you'd think they'd have some patience to see what the situation turns out like but anyways.

On a serious point though are cloud servers all the rage in online gaming these days? From what I know about the major MMOs like WOW and LoL they have physical servers and **** tons of them to cope with the huge stresses (and even they do break sometimes)
But RockStar seem to be using cloud right off the bat? You'd think maybe they'd start to invest some of their vast profits into physical servers and like right f'n now (or a week ago) why are they persisting with total dog ****?
I guess Rock* has a solid sized investment into whatever cloud service they're using so is using buckets to try and keep the titanic afloat right now. Not an attack on cloud servers in general just on Rock* organisation of this whole process which will go down in gaming history in a 'what not to do' presentation.

Re: GTA V - Online Now (semi)Availible

some random thoughts and experiences:

2 of my friends and I have 30+ characters, we played alot since wednesday or thursday. Had issues, too. Like, not being able to connect, could not play together, cloud servers down etc.
But it's been a blast. Seriously, it just blows GTA IV MP away. And thats without heists, content creator or cops n crooks.
The variety of missions, races, jobs is outstanding. Sure it takes a while to get things going and earn some cash, even with farming.

How to earn money kind of easy:

Like people said...Violent Duct, a job you get from Gerald, really easy and quick with 2+ players, gets you $9k. Replay until satisfied.

Races. I earned almost $10k in some races I won, 4-8 minutes. You can grind races very easy once you are in a game with nice players. Ranks you up pretty fast, too.

You can sell cars you steal to the LS Customs shops. I think you can't do it again right away but I got like 7k for a stolen SUV.

Re: GTA V - Online Now (semi)Availible

Well, this seems important:

Quote:
Note: Please do NOT use the “Retry” button after receiving the message “Rockstar Cloud Servers are unavailable” as this may result in loss of character data. If you are trying to access GTA Online and Rockstar Cloud Servers are unavailable, please exit to GTAV Story Mode and try entering GTA Online again through the Pause menu in Story Mode. We will be issuing a title update that will fix this issue as soon as possible.
What a clown show.
