Can we have a separate GTA online thread please?

How many posts do we need complaining that online doesn't work and describing repeated futile attempts in minute detail? The past 2-3 pages have been little else.

Yes, online is buggy as hell and doesn't work. No, we don't need to know just how badly it sucked every time you tried it.

Or you could just take a couple days off from the thread

You're the first person to have a problem with this.

Just because I'm the first to post about it does not neccessarily mean I'm the only one tired of endless posts full of the same complaining.

But by all means - keep banging your heads against the wall and complaining about how much it hurts...

I actually don't mind the complaining posts. I will read one post that says they are online and the gameplay is great which makes me like like crap and the only one who still cant connect. Then I scroll down and read all the complaints of people still not able to get online which makes me feel much better

I'm not complaining. I've played long sessions everyday with zero problems. Level 31.

How come I see like 4 crew members online and I invite them to my missions, but they almost never join.

That's the thing. People are upset, and rightfully so. I'm not going to tell them to stfu.

Yes, they're rightfully upset that they've bought the GOTY and have probably already gotten way more of their moneys worth from SP than 99% of any other game they've bought and now have to wait a little extra for a feature that everybody realized wasn't going to work well for quite some time after the official release anyway...

Tragedy ITT.

I figured out how to get the fighter jet in online mode, get a chopper (there's 2, one near the docks- one in the airport- not sure if you can enter airport easily or you need the other chopper to get inside which is what I did. ) and then fly to the military base and there's one inside a hangar, near the northwest corner.

I hit 41 early this morning. Finally unlocked my hood scoop for the Sultan RS.

and as soon as I say that my character got deleted, I have my cash though---wtf?

Is it possible to get 100% on SP if you bypassed something? Say I don't go and do the Strangers and Freaks missions right away? Or I just miss a random event...

Random events repeat if you miss them or screw them up.

You're right. It shouldn't bother people at all that they haven't been able to get on for days or have had their characters deleted. I'm not saying some of the issues that Rockstar is having aren't understandable, but saying that people shouldn't be frustrated is ****ing stupid.

No it isn't. Not only would anyone with even a hint of experience with these kinds of launches know that what is currently happening would happen, but Rockstar also warned about it beforehand. I figured that warning was pretty 'well, ldo!', but I guess it wasn't...

Every single major online game in history have had issues - we're talking about the best selling game of all time that didn't even have online as its main focus and I'm supposed to believe some people didn't understand this would initially be a dumpster fire?

GTA Online is currently basically a beta (if not alpha)-test - I honestly don't see how anyone can be surprised, frustrated or annoyed at this. It was obvious this would happen all along.

FTR, I haven't even tried to get online yet as I do not enjoy being a beta-tester. I'm having a ton of fun with single player and will try online as soon as it's up and running. Meanwhile, I'm leaving the head-against-wall-banging to those who seem to get some masochistic enjoyment out of it.

I don't think people expected to not have been able to play the game even once by the fourth day, no.

Meanwhile I'm level 30 now and loving it. Survival missions are the best, I've only unlocked 4 so far but each map is fun, and if you survive all 10 waves you get 20k cash + 3.5k RP + you get to keep (until you die) whatever weapons/ammo you pickup along the way. And in the final rounds they come at you with mini-guns.

Got three of us on PS3 atm if anyone else is gonna be around.

Not able to play the game? GTA Online wasn't even announced until Aug. 15th. Which is probably long after most people had pre-ordered GTA 5 based on its single player alone (which still works flawlessly...).

We're not talking about a game you have to be online to play here - we're talking about a game where the developers threw in an (if rumours are to be believed) incredibly awesome online mode that they could've easily charged extra for, into an already best-selling GOTY single player experience for free.

And it's a free online mode that they announced beforehand would have initial issues.

Anybody pulling a "I'm entitled to rage about this" over this one is a ****ing crybaby and needs to STFU and visit the real world.
