You're right, talking about problematic aspects of a game in a thread for that game is almost the very definition of "ridiculous". Good thinking.

But that's a somewhat progressive view I think and I wouldn't put a ton of fault on GTA for not adopting it. Also, I think there is a kind of point to the satire in this scene, about the Miley Cyrus types that play a Hannah Montana one moment and are then traumatizing an entire generation of children by twerking on Robin Thicke the next.
I do agree more with what you're saying about Franklin's aunt, where there's just no purpose to it.
The paparazzi scene is definitely more debatable than the other one. I'd disagree that there's anything wrong with or worth satirizing in Miley Cyrus situations. That's slut shaming. The only objects of ridicule should be the media and public who cause a huge uproar when a woman with a previously "clean" image starts showing her sexuality.
And if the game is making fun of "everything" then what's the point?

He might take the game "too seriously"(by which I think you mean his expectations are too high), but he doesn't take it nearly as serious as you take DEFENDING A VIDEO GAME ON THE INTERNET.
P.S. A video game, mind you, that as far as I can tell, you haven't played. You've never posted about playing it despite making the most posts ITT, you've just whined and complained that somebody said something negative about it.
I don't think I'm taking it too seriously, any more than in-depth discussion of any other art can be defined as "too serious". Rockstar wants to be taken seriously, with their epic tales of the American Dream (GTA4) and masculinity or the power of cooperation or whatever GTA5 is about. GTA4 was praised for its "Oscar-worthy" script. Bioshock: Infinite wants to say something meaningful about racism (lol). I'm giving the developers what they want - thoughtful analysis.
Gamers: "The media is bad for criticizing violent games because games are art. Games can have wonderful and meaningful stories. Trevor is the greatest character in the history of Western art [that one's from this thread].

They're just games, lighten up!"
