Cool, thanks.
Can you confirm that the cult opens their gates after the third person?
Also, do you have to play as Trevor to do this?

I love minding my own business walking down the street getting into a scuffle over nothing and then it escalates to a 4 star cop chase with me defending my self with mini guns and rockets.

damn

Spoiler:
regarding the easter egg

Spoiler:
if anyone is following the mystery, they will know about the cave beside the cult compund

Spoiler:
In there is a fire. It says, "Give Thanks" and there is a skull of a ram or something lying on the floor, as if it had been sacrificed inside it. What I am thinking is, maybe you have to get an animal into the cave and burn it for something to happen with the easter egg? There isn't another way to get an animal into a small cave apart from maybe use the iFruit app to lure Chop in, is there?

There's an faq on gamefaqs.com that has all the locations of people you can pick up, people you can retrieve jewlery/cars for, etc.

Don't ever recall seeing the icon for the cult compound on the map and I've dropped off 2 people plus have Trevor unlocked. Maybe I overlooked it? It's marked as an A on the map?

I've only done a few missions but I'm not getting a coherent story out of this yet. It feels like they've been influenced by saints row. This is the first GTA since part two that I'm not insta addicted to
Having played about 5 hours already now I can say:
-I ran bad with cops early on
-Outrunning them is actually kind of fun with the new radar system
-the story is fine
-I'm still not a huge fan of the missions where you have to kill tons of cops just doing their jobs but it's not a deal breaker. It feels like something saints row did to be more extreme than GTA (e.g. family guy vs simpsons)
-this game is definitely pretty awesome overall

to start, lago zancudo is on the west of the map, beside the sea, and north chumash is slightly above it along the road, the rest is pretty easy to figure out

theres nothing else you can buy down there as far i can see, maybe they just changed the price of the docks after printing the blue print map (since the map says bring $500k cash and the docks only cost $250k cash) (unless you can buy it early in the game for $500k? I dunno thats all i know)

I fkn love this game. I never played any other GTAs. thought it was a bit of a kids game, just rolling around beating up hookers and driving stolen cars to nowhere. But this one has me gripped. Im on my 2nd run of the main storyline(I chose the wrong ending 1st time). I played it for 14 hours a couple of days ago, stayed up all night because I was close to the end, just 1 more mission, just 1 more mission, oh I cant go to bed now gotta do this one etc.

Anyway, Im gonna be horrible in online mode, I suck at shooting games because Ive never bothered with them, but would be cool to add a few friends here to roll with. PM me or post here. PS3 btw.

Meh, I guess he's okay. Certainly the best character in game.

On characters, and my overall reaction to the game (ymmv):

Spoiler:
It's definitely GTA with all that means but this time there is no redeeming quality in any of the characters. They are all total scumbags. It changes things. I'm not sure why, but it's hard to give a **** when your toon is just a douchebag with douchebag motivations.

I think this is a good thing and a bad thing. It's bad because the characters are boring. It's good because it frees you of any moral hesitation when playing what is intrinsically a murder simulator, something that past GTA games lacked in comparison IMO. They went for complex characters that made for compelling stuff like arcs. There are no arcs in GTA 5. The characters babble about the same **** the whole game. The black guy is still bitching about escaping the hood up to the last cut scene.

But I think that works. GTA has always been about abhorrent mayhem but you never felt like any of them actually supported your actions, which made you feel like a giant dick when you got that GTA 4 dude, a guy who is trying to redeem himself for the awful **** he did in his past, behind the wheel of a bus and driving erratically through Times Square. In fact they made it horrific to run over people in GTA 4 -- the sound, the 'speed bump' effect, the damage it'd do to your car and the blood it left behind. Basically the gameplay and the world are at odds with the protagonist and his story. GTA 5 avoids this by recognizing that its characters are: To varying extents, all paper thin psychopaths. Which makes them unrealistic and unrelatable, and by extent their actions are more, I don't know, cartoony?

I'm kind of okay with that. In my opinion Rockstar's devs are peerless in making fantastic, hugely compelling characters matched by fantastic and hugely compelling worlds. GTA 5 only has the latter, but as a carnage-filled sandbox it's still a lot of fun and it doesn't judge me for mowing down pedestrians.

With that said about characters, I have to admit that it's ironically refreshing to play a game that actually has crazy people for its main characters. Like you can't roleplay a crazy person in a game like Skyrim. I mean, you can murder travelers on backroads or whatever but the story doesn't support it and by the end you're still the Hero and Savior of the World. When you do that **** it's completely on you as a person. In GTA 5, when I switched to the redneck guy, it had him driving his truck behind several bicyclists clogging up the street. The redneck says something like, "These goddamn guys think they own the road!" The game gave me clearance to run them over. It's hard not to appreciate that on some deranged level.

LOLduke on ps3 if you want to add me, but needle can attest to my lack of shooting skills (at least on cod).

Flight school is frustrating to me, only two more of those to complete.

HA! That was great.

Has anyone ever noticed that it's very hard to get "busted" in this one..I have yet to. They just keep shooting.
