I would hope so, but the tone did not feel that way. I think they are legitimately trying to write jokes that would be in a PG-13 pseudo-raunchy family comedy.

They might as well have had a character make a faux pas and then play the record scratch sound and have everything go quiet for a second.

Then have a woman deliver a good zinger and start playing that "every day is a winding road" song.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
What are you basing the "more interactive than it has ever been" on? Trailer looks fine to me, but I'm pretty much expecting more of the same as far as the gameplay is concerned. If there is evidence of a more interactive experience than ever before I'd like to hear it though. By now I feel like I have a pretty good idea what the limits of a R* "open world" are, and if they found ways to significantly expand on that, I'll be surprised.

Has there been a better single palyer openworld experience than GTA: SA when it comes to being interactive?

I agree it's not that "interactive" at all, but I don't know any games that do it better either.

this

there are secret missions to discover (i cant remember what site, i think it was mentioned in the 18 page magazine thing R* did), one example given is discovering a scene and then having to work out what happened (if u remember there was a truck, an open space and body bags in an area in the desert in SA but no interaction available). the public are more interactive (this alone adds a lot), there was also mention of college kids camping on mount chiliad and every other pedestrian/public member having an aim rather than doing things aimlessly.

i think interactive was a misuse, i should have said more complete, like there isn't any emptiness in the game world, theres always something going on.

fwiw the world is going to be huge, its naturally going to be more interactive bcos they need to include so much more. theres no point having sprawls of countryside/desert with nothing to do in them.

edit: scuba diving, in SA there were oysters and certain missions but this alone should add a lot, 3 characters with there own personal minigames, more diversity in vehicles, jet skis, ATV's, more bikes, being able to rappel down buildings, it was rumoured and not sure if confirmed yet that you can use random objects off the streets as weapons during combot, an economy (pretty sure being able to buy/sell drugs was rumoured). a lot of this was taken from http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/gt...r_details.html

Why is there no PC version planned?

Guessing because pirating PC games is more common

No it's because people buy consoles if necessary to play GTA V anyway, and if they release GTA V for PC a year later a lot of the ones who bought it for console will buy it for PC again.

I don't know about Xbox=> PC, but PS3=> PC is a ****ing bitch and requires a lot of recourses.

Damn, that sucks. All the mods that are out there made it worth buying gta 4 for the PC. (more cars, police modes, fun stuff, etc.) Guess I'll ending up forking out some money for another xbox. Red ring of death here I come again because I'm sure I'll wear out another system playing this game to death.

That excuse is always a load of ****. PC gaming is booming right now and sales are better than ever. 4 has sold a ridiculous amount on Steam alone. Rockstar games still sell better on consoles and that's why they always focus on them first but they don't exactly sell terribly. All of their big releases on PC have come after the console versions so I have no doubt it's coming.

I'll just get the 360 version on launch and the PC version on a steam sale later on for mods etc.

"We've focused on variety," he explains, "I don't think players will say, 'I'm constantly being told what to do, and I go there, I do it, I leave and I do everything in exactly the same way!' I definitely don't think that will be a problem".

the shark and submarine pictures take the game to another level imo... i just hope there not only for missions and they'll be other activities involving them... scuba-diving/deep sea exploration is confirmed i think.

why? I've never liked modding either, just makes the game look stupid...

just try to play any GTA online now, you can't find a game without people modding, in fact the multiplayer system in GTA 4 was pretty piss poor, though for a while there after it came out there was a golden age where you could actually play full games without cheating - an impossibility now

I got real bored of GTA IV real fast.

What is going to be different this time around to make it worth my while to get it.

Holy **** this looks immense.

Never tried Multiplayer in any of the previous' the free roam and doing missions always provided endless hours of fun should probably be able to get a hold of this a few days early.

Is there a set in stone release date aside from Spring 2013?

Agreed, I loved Vice City, and San Andreas but 4 had me falling asleep. I think the change of scenery, heading to the west coast is a big difference, the world will also be much bigger.

I had heard June 19 previously but Amazon pre-order is saying March 27. This is awesome!

i didnt buy gta 4 after playing it a friends, ive said before it was a step backwards and gta 5 should have been the next game released rather than 4.

vice city --> SA --> gta 5 is the obvious progression

gta 5 should be a whole new level of free-roam gaming, just read some articles and youll realise just how much there will be to do on top of the storyline.
