GTA V - Heists taking place up in hurrr - Page 4 - Video Games

According to analysts at Newzoo, Grand Theft Auto V is likely to be a trendsetter, opting for a digital-only release instead of appearing on discs. Newzoo CEO Peter Warman believes the game will still appear on store shelves, but won't include a disc in the package.

If for real that is a very good sign, as a few of the characters are explicitly living in the boondocks. I wouldn't want L.A.-only with no surrounding areas.

Pretty sure that's Ray Liotta on the voice over and old Tommy Vercetti is the old guy imo...

Not much to say about it.. but looks like the game has good potential. Map will be sick. As long as it is more like San Andreas and previous GTAs and not like GTA4 ffs.

Hah, I thought the same thing at first, but I'm sure it's not Liotta. It is possibly still Vercetti but I'd bet against it.

Pretty ****ing lame that they're sticking with the "career criminal tries to go clean and gets roped back in but is a good guy at heart" line. San Andreas, Vice City Stories, GTA4, Lost & Damned, Red Dead Redemption, GTA5. At least the first Vice City knew what it was.

This didn't do much for me (neither did GTA4's first trailer). Rockstar is masterful at selecting music though.

You'll probably be waiting a while. Come to think of it, I don't know if Rockstar ever shows gameplay in their GTA trailers (in the last 6 years at least). You know the gameplay already though, and it's not like this is 1998 with cutscenes that don't use the actual game engine.

They didn't really show any of what would be SF which is a little disappointing, but the trailer seemed to imply it was there. The wind turbine farm they showed is located here IRL, a little east of the Bay Area.

Not much info, but it's awesome just knowing that something on the way. I was talking to a friend the day before this was announced and I said "I don't think there will be a GTAV for quite awhile" then I found this out. SWEET!!!!

I agree with the Vercetti, that did look a lot like him. I also think I saw Caeser in it as well.

And here's another thought: Packie being a character? He was getting on a plane after IV (BoGT I believe) so I was kind of hoping the game would revolve around him.

I don't really care about any of the details (though I'd like to know them) I'll get it the day it comes out, and I'll love the sh*t out of it.

I am 90% sure it is on the drive to LA, but haven't made either drive in 4+ years, so I didn't want to commit to one side and be wrong. But I have never driven to SF from here, so I know there is another set.

It's unlikely to be summer 2013. GTA4 trailer was early 2007 with a planned release in late 2007 which got pushed back to early '08. Even with a delay it was still within a year of the trailer.

For those that paid attention to these kind of things during SA and IV:

How long before they release more information about the game after the initial trailer? Release date is probably not even close to being known, but they obviously know the other details. I'm guessing it's quite awhile before Trailer #2 or a press release of some sort.
