I haven't seen much or any "extreme hate" and have no idea why hipsters would have any interest whatsoever in hating on Grand Theft Auto IV.
Obviously we don't all think that it was "tons of fun to play", and for us those flaws are not as easy to dismiss as they are for you. In many respects the game was a huge step backwards from its predecessors. As for "nothing" making me happy (assuming you mean in gaming), there's like the previous 5 games in the series plus the spiritual brother Red Dead Redemption and the majority of other games that I play.
I don't snap-buy any game but there is almost no doubt that I will pick it up when I can get it for cheap.

I don't remember, and I have my doubts because I remember much more spontaneous things happening in missions in previous games, but what's the difference? Has the window of opportunity on being allowed to criticize the series for that now closed?
