having just this week valor capped for the first time since pandaria dropped, why in the sweet name of **** do they not give you justice points instead of valor once capped for any dailies or further heroics? It's not like the price of items dropped substantially or anything. Plus the huge rep grind to get pretty much anything.
woat decision, for anyone that prefers dungeoning for gear vs dailies
I don't understand their reasoning behind moving the valor cap from 4000 down to 3000. I guess it encourages you to do more dailies in order to open up rep rewards. If you're valor capping just with dungeons and LFR but not doing any rep grinds, your Valor is going to be mostly useless. Right now you can upgrade items for 750 Valor each, but upgrading anything lower than a 489 (preferably 496) doesn't feel great, so LFR isn't much help there.
If you've already got 1000 Valor for the week, or 3000 Valor total, doing dailies will only give you Lesser Charms and gold.
You don't need any rep to upgrade items at 750 per 4 ilvls. That NPC is being removed in 5.2. The only other way to spend Valor (outside of converting it to conquest) is by purchasing gear from the various factions. But if you don't do any dailies, you won't unlock the ability to buy the items. So if you don't have any rep but keep valor capping each week through dungeons, LFR, and scenarios, your best bet is to get ahold of a Spiritsever (assuming you're mostly playing your Rogue), Darkmoon trinket, or Tier from Sha and pour your Valor in to upgrading that.
I think that upgraded items aren't accounted for, because it keeps trying to give me more hit than I'm asking for. I have the Gnome Expertise bonus, so I tell it to put hit At Least 4590 instead of 5100. It makes the calculations and if I reforge according to what it tells me I'm always a few hundred over the hit cap. Back to useing wow-reforge.com for now.
When the upgrade thing first came around it would always put me just under the haste breakpoint. I stopped using it for a while and just started winging it, trying to eyeball it as close as I could without putting too much effort into it.
I tried it again sometime a few weeks ago and it seems better, but still not perfect. Sometimes after reforging, my stats won't be where it said they should have been. Usually doing it again fixes it.
For the record, it doesn't look like wowreforge is working right with the upgrades either, at least for me. If you manually input the stats for any upgraded items you have, it'll work (just tried with mine, it gives me exactly what reforgelite does), but not if you just let it grab your armory
I feel bad for people that had to reforge any way that wasn't shadowcraft. Probably the best part of rogue-ing, back in the firelands. Get new loot, update gear on site, push one button, insta-perfect reforge list.
After 4 more rolls in TES last night I'm pushing 60 rolls on bosses that drop weapons.
If I make it to 5.2 without so much as a 476 weapon I'm going to be really pissed. What a miserable ****ing failure of a droprate. I've been sitting on 1500 Valor for the last however long waiting for something to upgrade. What a joke. Using a PvP weapon this far in to the expansion is embarrassing.
That does suck. And the patch is supposed to remedy that.
So should I upgrade a MSV lfr weapon if I have it now? I can swap it to off-hand once I get something better. And I doubt I'll be lucky enough to get two daggers with essentially no other raiding than lfr.
something to consider when speculating about the release date of 5.2 is that this is a patch which brings an end to an arena season, and blizzard typically gives a 2-week notice before the end of a season.
You guys are (99.9% likely) right. I'd say 100%, but y'know what they say about something something absolute assuredness.
I dislike that there are now actual rogue nerfs incoming, not just the "well, we have to do something to make it look like we're nerfing them, too" piddly crap that was there before. Grumble. Of course, some of it is just moving things around to look like a nerf.
I assume it happened in 5.1, but I love the change to Tiger Palm for monks. So great not having to stack that **** anymore.
