God of War - PS4 (2nd GOAT behind EU4?) - Page 2 - Video Games

I got sick after about 20 minutes in and then finally stopped at about 45 minutes. Hopefully it was just a glitch since I had playing some souls games and had no issues, so hopefully it was just a freak incident. The attacks seemed a bit slow, but maybe I just need to get used to it. Graphics wise it looks great and a very solid story buildup at the start.

The control of the camera with the right stick is a bit fast, but it's kinda of necessary for the type of action that's involved in the game.

I keep dying at the first fight (on hard but not ultrahard, when two enemies attack you) because they're like "here's light attack/heavy attack" without bothering to tell me how I dodge or avoid getting hit

edit: ok so finally done there, seriously took me like 35 minutes to get through the first fight of the game

Yeah game is hard - I'm also playing on "normal" (give me a balanced experience) and I've still died a lot more than I expected. Getting a bit easier now as I get the hang of timings and moves though.

I started on "Give me a challenge" too and turned it down fairly quick - I found the first tutorial fight very tough and died maybe 10+ times, but the first troll broke me lol.

I figure I'll play through it on normal, then have another go on the remixed super-hard once I'm well practised and know what to do.

Spimp13 - if it's making you queezy, try turning off "camera sway" in the options?

Troll probably took me 15 tries, but it went a lot better once I learned some Souls-esque patience - spam arrows, wait for him to get distracted/attack and whiff, get in, get some hits, get out, don't be greedy and stay too long in the danger zone.

I'm not feeling great about the difficulty levels in this game - after encountering yet another fight that felt like it was going to take me an hour to get through on hard, I went to medium and finished it my first try without really feeling like I was in much danger of dying. I think the sweet spot would be somewhere in the middle.

Balanced difficulty is weird. I'm a seasoned SOULS player and some battles felt much too easy like goofy mentioned, but a few have tested me. This game really is the nuts so far though. Can't wait to get home and dive in again.

Much better this time and didn't get sick so maybe I wont need to change anything. I found that difficult purple enemy too and died a couple of times before I got the hang of it. Attacking definitely feels different or more like a Batman game except for the Thor ax throw which is cool. Pretty damn good story so far. Hopefully the fighting gets going a little bit better for me.

So I guess I can't play this.... the game will not install. I deleted it. I restarted. I tried everything and it gets to like 3.15gb installed and then just stops. This has happened 10+ times. Is it possible my disc is ****ed up? Never experienced anything like this.

It's the 1st one I've come across that's timed... After defeating Brenna Daudi There are 2 "bells" on either either side of a waterfall and then one on the far side of that area. You have to throw your axe at all 3 within roughly 10-12 seconds.

That one's easy. There's one on a spinner that was much more tough. I think they are good little exercises that help you get your axe throwing on point. I will say it's easily worth it to explore every corner and not rush to the next objective. Take your time.

Anyone understand these floating black/colored balls of light that you touch and spawn enemies? There's something strange about them. I encountered one on one of the towers in the Lake of Nine and it spawned purple enemies which kicked my ass a bunch of times, and I read that purple means you're underleveled for them so I left. I just found a 2nd in the Elf realm and it spawned enemies with yellow health bars but they still one-shot me, so there's something really weird about it.

Highly, highly recommended skill: lower left of the shield section, parrying a projectile redirects it toward the attacker

I think it's like 3000 xp but my god is it awesome

It's tough to say much about the story progression without spoilers... Just progressed the main quest a bit, was good!

Saw, there is a level number at the left of the enemy health bar - they may be yellow but perhaps high level? not quite sure how these tie together myself. I had to nope out of one of those realm tears, the one-shotting was too much for me! another one I managed to beat, got a bit lucky I think knocking them off an edge in rage-mode but I'll take the win

I just bought that skill Goofy but then didn't see a projectile enemy in two hours

I'm sure it'll come in handy soon tho!

Yes, runs very good so I've heard. Stable 30fps 1080p. It is in fact the most stable fps of the three options. Spimp13 is on an original PS4 I am pretty sure? Probably others itt also.
