too many coffees and sorting through an old hard drive and found some old d2 screenies

i think the first game i played online , with a dialup modem possibly a voodoo video card with 8 meg of ram (something like that ) was quake with the old nailgun , think it was like a 10000 ms ping to the states lol

then from that to quake 2 and diablo2 ( not sure on timeline )
throw in unreal tournament (headshot )

somewhere there spending a fortune on 32 megs of ram and getting dual voodoos to sli

from there was counterstrike and day of defeat

and playing c&c online was bloody addictive

but it was definitely quake vs other players that sewed the seeds of online gaming for me

Going way back, it was probably MUDs (early text based MMOs).

Although Quake3 really hooked me into online shooters.

Half-Life mods/add-ons: TFC first, plus some CS of course. Day of Defeat came shortly after.

duels.com

that game is silly addictive, endgame is trash though.

It was still a 'fun while it lasted' experience, and was my first exploration into proper hardcore online gaming.

Warcraft II. I wasted a LOT of time playing that game. Jesus. Played it everywhere too, MSN Zone, Heat, Kali, b.net. But B.net kinda killed the game, introducing fastest game speed. EF for life!

Quake 2. So many fun mods. I liked the gameplay a lot more than the first Quake, which is why I got into it a lot more.

Yeah, I was a L.O.R.D. guy, Doom II was HUGE, but I didn't get as much into FPS's until I got broadband, so probably more likely Unreal Tournament for me.

I think if Sega would have made the eternet adapter standard for the DC, it could have been huge. Such a great console, sucks that it was so easy to pirate.

Starcraft, closely followed by TFC and CS.

I play on a team that plays in the EASHL. We play with at least 4 players and we each play the same position every game. I am Mike Gallo I play defense and I wear no 24.

I have not attained Legend status yet. 105 games play A- stats. I have over 105 games however my overall rating is only a B-.

Me too. Specifically, Rocket Arena 2. I spent a lot of time on that game.

Now I play TF2 Arena, which is an acceptable replacement for me!
