I had a final 5 in doubles last night with two teams of 2 and me and I opened on 2 dudes who were super exposed to me from my bush. First had full shields so by the time he's downed I was only able to get a couple shots in the other guy before he killed me.

Really regret not waiting.

Yeah the only real way you're going to have a decent chance of winning that is if the two teams fight it out & do some damage to eachother first.

Another game yesterday, we were down to 4, I sniped a guy in the open field, then the other 2 players killed eachother, giving me the win (Player X died from a rifle, then player Y got 'sploded by Player X). Was pretty hilarious.

I sort of like what shields do. Sure, they're RNG in a way, but they encourage action in the form of fighting over high loot zones.

SMGs definitely are pointless. Revolver excluded, you can certainly argue the best gun for each bullet type is the one that deals the most per shot. A lot of streamers I see carry the pump over the tactical shotty, and both are pretty annoying even at a decent range. They also have the inherent advantage of this game being 3rd person and the ability to build cover.

Rockets definitely seem a bit common, especially when there's only a few launchers before supply drops come.

But still, I can't wait to use/watch someone use that consumable

Any strategy advice for 4 man squads?

In solo and duo you can do pretty well just playing conservatively, camping and running hot in the final 10.

Squads is a different animal in that it’s very hard to fly under the radar an entire match (hard to find 4 bushes together!) and even if you do, by the time you get to the end you’re at a massive disadvantage vs more aggro teams that have loads of mats and elite weapons.

My groups strat is currently to land near flush factory. We run a route that takes a couple mins and ultimately make our way toward FF (whether it’s in circle or not) and kill whoever is leaving/remaining there. Once there we tear the place to the ground so we all have about 200 brick and 500 metal. From there we stay aggressive and keep moving and building once we enter the safe circle. We have so much metal that it’s very hard for other teams to win battles vs us, especially in the early stages where people don’t want to build using their limited brick or metal quite yet.

It’s important to always share items and guns. For example, nobody gets full shield until we all get half, nobody gets two ARs until we all have 1, med packs always go to the guy with lowest hp, bullets are shared equally, etc

We win around 25-30% of games i would say.

The circle will shrink to nothing eventually.

Ninja is a god at this game. He was great at H1 and really good at pubg, but he a legit god at fortnite.

I checked his stream yesterday and he had over 20 duo and solo wins in one day

Him, Dakotaz, And Grimmmz are insanely good. But Ninja is on another level. Dude is creative as hell!! The "microwave" play is hilarious. Another guy whose really good is NetJ on PS4. He build so fast that I swear he's using a mouse and keyboard but it's a controller. I played against him a few times on Uncharted 4's Multiplayer and he was good in that but he found his niche with Fortnite

By far the most fun I have had in a game in years.

This game is the tits... And the improvements they have made to the game since launch have been mostly positive. The Launchpad and rocket riding are pretty fun game dynamics. As excited as I was for PubG to come to console, Fortnite def takes the cake on console.

I've tried mouse/keyboard I just enjoy using controller more, I'm sure I'm at a disadvantage vs. mouse/keyboard players especially when it comes to building forts, but I still come in 1st playing solo every so often so I'm fine with it

I only play squads when I have to for the daily challenges, I have everyone muted by default, I unmuted the random squad members a couple times and it's your typical players calling eachother terrible and unpleasant exchanges lol.

Maybe someday I'll come back to PS4, but for now I'm on PC.

it's a pretty fun game. not something i could spend hours on every night but me and some buds tend to have a blast running a few squads at night. also agreed that the new locations make the game so much better

won my first solo game today, and did so without getting a kill, so that was fun.

Final three came down to me at the base of a mountain, surrounded by the storm on all sides. The other two were at the top of the mountain, battling with rocket launchers. Guy who finished second got off a shot on the guy who finished third while jumping around the cliff, hit him with the rocket, and promptly fell to his death. A winner is me.

I tried a few times to win in a similar way but it’s too hard.

I really can’t stand solos anymore. I’d rather do squad no-fills. I’ve won a few but the new mini gun kinda killed that. Early game is fine in that mode, mid game is the same but end game is hellish now. Not just because people are getting really good now. But having 1 guy with a mini and the rest of the squad able to just poke at you till others join in. Also seems like a lot squads don’t like to fight each other. They pick off the solos and half-teams.
