kudos to anyone that plays it on manual but for me its just way too hard to accurately aim where you want with how the camera is angled most of the time.

First random thoughts after playing a few games on the ps3 demo (onkly played the demo of 14 so comparisons might be off)

-not skippable cutscenes before subs seem to be gone, making the game eligible to be bought.

-big wtf on running...looks like where back to only 8 directions? FIFA 13 was way better than this in that regard

- I really like the ball physics, esp. on distance shots

- refs are pretty ticky-tacky, except for in the box where everything goes. I guess you can call that realism. I got an opponent sent off on what the cpu seemingly saw as a last man foul. No human would have ever given a ref there

-keepers are weird, pretty good at coming out for through balls but if a player already with the ball comes towards them, they stay on the line for an eternity

- player ratings in general seem kinda low, City or Chelsea have no one with 90 and Dortmund is Reus with 85 and then a bunch of low 80s. I wonder if Schalke has a single 80 player lol. No Problemo as long it's the same standard for every team

some stuff that isn't a product of bugs but rather of me sucking at FIFA:

- I'm having a terrible time placing shots, always been that way but now it got even worse. Most goes high and not accurate at all. I get all the rebounds though

- Keep conceding goals due to being too slow changing players, which is also new

The movement does feel a lot different. I think its less forgiving when turning with the ball, which could be a good thing playing online. I also think its balanced with the fact that pace seems to be more effective, less of an elastic band effect where defenders would catch up no matter what. Shooting does seem to be a lot harder as well. Lots of shots i would expect to go in getting saved.

Playing on manual is a death sentence online (in FUT anyways). If you like getting slaughtered, then go with it.

yeah it's true, being unable to move at will in full sprint should be a good thing, but at the start I thought I was playing FIFA 2004 lol

There's also some really good shooting animations, not crucial to gameplay but it does look nice. Game is reaaaaally fun to play- scored some cracking goals already

Realistic gameplay. Removing all the glitches and exploits.
Goal from corners should happen about 1/30 times, not 1/2.
Players shouldn't be able to sprint and press non stop for 90 mins.
When an off balance defender clears a ball it shouldn't end up being a perfect through ball to the lone striker.
First touches that are more like a kick then a touch.
Manual through passes that go flying from a tap of the y button.
There's probly more that I just can't remember.

Assisted is for babies. Like riding a bike with training wheels.
Be a man and learn to play all manual.

i think the player tactics is a good much needed upgrade. Its very handy being able to tell your wingers to cut in behind defenders or for your holding midfielders to stay back.

A striker got a step on me, I couldn't catch him and he scored. In 14 I would have caught him and taken the ball away no problem. I'm digging this so far.

Ah yes, the ol' "play your own personal videogame the exact way I do or you're not a MAN" quip.

It's a ****ing game, play it however the hell you want.

So if there's a real difference between striker and CB speed now, I'm hoping the accuracy of long through balls over the top has been reduced? Otherwise how will anyone stop the Madrid spammers?

Game seems much better than last year. Especially considering the demos aren't fully polished.

Agree that auto is pretty lame. Always at least use manual shot and lob ball. Find that FUT is too fast paced for manual pass unless I'm really on my game.

This game crazily offensive for anyone else? I score a ton but can't defend anything.

Keepers are really weird, good at shot stopping, but I one time wanted to just punt the Ball away but he just got the slightest Touch to it and fell down lol

Overall a lot of fun

Liking the demo a lot. Loving all the new information in player stats and moreso the ability to make slight positional changes in team management. e.g. sliding Matic back a bit and Fabregas up a bit etc

"Set Piece Tactics" are an option from corners

-near post run
-far post run
-crowd the keeper
-edge of the box run

Presentation is really great. Loving this.

Also, gameplay note: it feels like my defenders are much less successful making standing tackles that worked in 14. They're not getting "sucked into" the tackle as much...which is more realistic but makes defending a bit tougher. Positioning is of the utmost

Clarification on manual vs. assisted:

I try to talk people into switching to manual not because I somehow feel superior for playing manual (it is a video game and that would be ridiculous) but because I feel that manual results in a truly superior and more fun game. When all you've played is assisted controls you don't realize how constricted you are when the computer is effectively deciding where you pass, shoot, and cross to. On manual you can pass or cross anywhere on the pitch. This opens up much more long pass opportunities, better combinations, and allows you to cut your passes a lot closer to the opponent. I really believe it is a lot more fun.

Not trying to dominate the thread with this but I think it is worth discussing once a year.

Also, I really like this game and I anticipate playing the hell out of it. Excited to get a new career game going.

I have no idea how to score a goal. Is it R2 or R1 on ps4 for finesse?
FIFA 15 Quote
09-11-2014 , 05:02 AM
R1 is finesse. But that's not essential for scoring. It all depends on the situation.
R2 is sprint.

what do you mean?
only one of that is possible? a conventional corner usually includes all of the 4 so i'm a bit confused
