Keeping the ball in the 90th minute is what anyone would do IRL because the game takes 90 ****ing minutes. Online is completely different because the clock is so much faster. To waste any of the 12 minutes or however long the game lasts is a dick move and very unsportsmanlike.

I have never wasted time late in a game because I am winning. Remember that when you use the word 'everyone', that 'everyone' includes a lot of people.

The time I was 'wasting' was in addition to the 12 minutes of play. 2 mins of stoppage time for a 12min game should be about 20 seconds in theory! So your point is a poor one.

Yes there are unsporting people out there, but the vast majority do not waste time IME.

The whole game lasts 12-15 minutes. Wasting any of this time is a dick move and unsporting. It is a video game FFS, people want to play a full game.

I play my normal game and try to score a win-clinching goal.

I used to be like you, although it was in Madden. I would grind the clock with my run game while I was up. Eventually someone explained this all to me though and I realized that I was been being a dick. Hopefully you will have that same realization.

Fair enough. I believe that most, not all, people would try to keep the ball in that situation. This is based on my experience. There are of course going to be people who don’t.

It's all been given a bit more attention than I thought a passing comment would.

We've all played the people who watch the entire intro and line-up, repeatedly pause it for the full 40 odd seconds without making changes and hold the ball at kick-off for as long as possible just to be annoying. I am not one of those people I can assure you.

Westley, your post seems very defensive (probably warranted), but I wasn't trying to attack you. I think the anti-time-wasting posts that are in response to your posts smell of frustration from players we have played against those that literally try to kick the ball around and waste time a whole half if they are leading.

If I am up 1 in the 85th minute you better believe I am trying to score another. I have switched my tempo to attacking and ultra-attacking, but I have never switched to defensive or ultra-defensive.

I have a feeling that I am about to take the heat off of you (for your time-keeping comment), but I do pause the game for 30 seconds or so with out making any changes if someone scores a standard goal then proceeds to celebrate it and watch replays.

I usually don't do this after their first goal, but if they celebrate and watch replays of their 2nd goal I hit pause and let them think about their actions. The reason I don't do it after the 1st goal is because I usually give my opponent the benefit of the doubt and assume it is the first goal they have every scored on FIFA.

i do all my pausing at the end of the game so they cant retaliate. every goal someone scores and watches the replay of gets a pause. do it after ive scored and skipped thru, or decide you need to watch all the opening cinematics, and you get all three pauses and are watching the end replays.
