i couldn't even get a shot off with if gerrard bc his dribbling sucks and is so slow, and when i did it wasn't anywhere close to what it should be given his stats. then again i'm basically perma handicapped in every game i play and i might as well be playing with 20 ovr rated players w 0 chem.

it's just crazy to me how ridic i was doing with my first all gold but no IF team going like 40-2, granted most of it wasn't in d2/d1 but it's like how can i assemble the best possible team in the game almost and just start getting soulcrushed. 4321 seems to be much better than 4411 but i refuse to believe the formation is why every player sucks wang.

Right back at ya WRT Luiz. Hes appaling this year, it doesnt even need discussing IMO, hes horrible. But since almost all your team has hi att wr, I would imagine your only real defender gets pretty lonely back there, lol

I could pick a better option for each of the guys you have(hence my initial post), but even more so now you have stated your reasoning for each one.

Cech, fair enough he has the long throw trait, I got sucked in by that too for a while. Eventually I realised thats the easiest way to give the ball away(well 2nd only to the long kick)... Best way to retain possession is to drop ball to GK feet(if forwards are marking the small roll out/pass. Back your ability and put the ball at GK feet, wait for the easy pass to open up(it always will). Therefore long throw is overrated, meaning there are much better options at GK.

RVP>Rooney - His shooting is as good if not better than Rooney, plus he has decent workrates and wont be exhausted/OOP for most of the game.

Gerrard - Free kicks? But you have SIF Cazorla, surely no-one else gets a look in on set pieces. He has hi/hi workrates so Im guessing hes exhausted/OOP a bunch. I'd prefer a specialist CDM here, would be close with different arguments for each of SIF Fellaini, Toure and IF Sissoko.

I would prob go with Ben Arfa though given a choice(Im a 5* whore)

I use Ben Arfa as my second string RM and he hasn't really set the world alight for me. Maybe in a 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 or something he would be good, but I don't get much use out of his skills 45 yds from goal near the touchline.

Ive barely played in the last 2 weeks. I conceded 1 goal in the 7 games and didnt have less than 60% possession in any game, always the opponent had less than 3 shots in every game.

Next time I play Im a relegation cert.

SIF Fellaini IMO, he wants long range shooting and Fellaini is beast at that, plus his workrates are awesome and hes killer in the air.

That said, Im 13-0-0 for the double championship, 2-1 up with 5 mins to go and I choke and my GK somehow ends up in the corner flag chased by 3 guys and a full power kick manages to reach his player wide open on 30 yards.

200K for SIF Fellaini? Will rarely get to use him as a target man in the air, and his raw stats aren't blowing me away. I may try him out tonight when I get home.

Idk what exactly has happened the last month or two. I didn't play much at all for a good while then came back, switched to 3-5-2 and started winning Div 1 like every time. And that's after being very average before. I'd really like to understand what happened, but it's impossible to figure out what combination of opposition quality deteriorating with time due to declining interest, formation improvement, me playing better, and/or random luck in drawing opponents for the last 6-8 seasons.

not a huge sample but i feel like playing against 352 is pretty fkng hard. i haven't tried that or 41212 yet this year.

recommend me a good team? would like to use Suarez CF & 89 Falcao ST with some good crossers + decent dribbling & passing if possible

imo the 352 is the best as long as you have good pace on the edge to keep them from abusing the lobbed ball to the corner. its nice to have 3 actual defending defenders instead of 2 and 2 glorified wingers that start from the back

352 is a very solid but very boring formation imo

less vulnerable to counterattacks(3cbs+2dms) and very defensive when the opposition is in possession(almost becomes 5 at the back) it is very easy to grind out cleansheets but just not fun to me at all(harder to completely control/dominate games because you usually have 1 less attacking option in possession)

4231 is goat but falcao + suarez hybrid is basically impossible

Yea its ******ed. I tilt sold off my entire squad a couple of weeks ago because it was driving me insane. Logged into my nephews PSN twice this week and both times I was just unplayable. I know it has to do with weak draws etc but I also think a lot of the variance involved is down to your own play.

I have had sessions where I cant do a thing right and I get smashed every game, then I have sessions like last night where I go 14-1-0 for a double championship. Conceding like 5 goals max along the way. It cant all be down to game selection(although Im sure this plays its part). I think there has to be something we do differently sub-consciously.

Good to see 352 finally getting some love ITT, defensively its by far the best formation, as long as you have 75+ pace CBs and hi def WR CDMs(or just not hi att WR). IF Sissoko is still the best CDM Ive used, and Ive used them all, I was expecting his initial godliness may wane, but nope, hes still an absolute beast.

My edge of box 1-2s were out of this world last night. I played a possession style and I was amazed at how well I was breaking teams down when they packed their own area. Cashy you would have been proud! My skill and precision dribbling were also fantastic in and around the box. I was just on another level to where Ive been previously and I was just "seeing" everything 3 moves ahead. I dont think it would have been possible with any other formation, the way the 352 sets up is great when you have a team penned in, the wingers hug the touchline and spread the game, the STs are available into channels and the CAM is a central threat, then the CDMs push up into that area about 35-40 yards from goal so they are always an outlet if you run down a dead end, or there to pick up the scraps if the opponent clears.

If I had to pinpoint something I was doing differently it would be that I was less direct, and yet I moved the ball much quicker than I have before(with short passing). Hope that helps someone.

i think the biggest difference maker is lag

oftentimes games are really "sluggish" and the players reaction time just seems really slow(making proper passing game and dribbling almost impossible)

Well I always make sure Im the home team anyway, and if there is any 1 or 2 bars of latency in the matchup screen at any time I quit and always have done. I only occassionally get a laggy game.

latency bar seems like scam, guys with green latency at all times oftentimes turn out as unplayable lag monsters(EA seems to play a role too tho, in euro late night hours when EA lobby is far smoother games seem to be too)
