I really, really hope that FUT isn't completely buggy and messed up this year. Am i the only one who is 100% convinced that 'handicapping' in fut is absolutely real and massively affected the game? That's the only thing i can contribute what i experienced in fut 12 as. I had a team worth 2.5mil coins and i would lose to people with squads maybe worth 20k. I know a bunch of you have played me here, i've been playing fifa since i was playing it on PC with a ps2 controller like 7 years ago and have cracked the top 100 in h2h a couple times in the last few years games. And I just could not consistently win in FUT. Stuff like players being pushed off ball/tackled sooo easily, basic shots going way wide, terrible players catching up to IF Ronaldo, etc. I've checked the fifa forums a bunch and there were many big debates on it, with fifa basically denying it, although intheir in depth manual or whatever it essentially says there IS some sort of handicapping.

The game just wasn't enjoyable for me and I have absolutely loved every other years. FWIW I really liked the Eurocup addition gameplay but something about FUT12 this year playing with a really really good squad was simply unbearable. No one else?

Nah it isn't just you, I felt like it was only an even game perhaps 1/5 times. I suspect it could me more to do with connection issues than some kind of built in momentum/scripting but something definitely goes wrong with the game too often to deny that it is a problem.

in some of the games the bad luck really was absurd in FUT
(like 30 to 2 shots, hit the post 6 times and lose 1-2 or sth like that)

In my experience xbox def seems more rigged than PS3 but I just put it down to me not being used to the controller. Having said that my ratio is almost identicle to my PS3 ratio, but some games just dont seem right. Way more than I ever experienced on PS3.

Ironic though that you enjoy the euro game, I found that to be more effected by momentum or scripting or whatever its called. I would get beat 5-0 by average players, a lot, and beat good players the same way.

Yea but the fact his rating hasnt dropped doesnt seem too legit to me, he had a pretty poor 12 months.

Meh ratings have always been a joke. I guess he has a too big fanbase to lower his ratings.

hitting the post was like the ultimate 'this game is being handicapped/scripted' for me. there were games i would literally hit like 15 posts and not score bc every single shot rang off the post.

I think the whole handicap/scripting thing is hugely overestimated and largely peoples way of blaming a loss when simply having a bad game or playing someone better if you are playing with similair rated teams.

That said, i think there was definately something wrong when playing with teams hugely different in ratings, such as XI Gold vs XI silver/bronze and the lesser players got boosts mainly in the physical stats imo.

Anybody plan on playing FIFA 13' for XBOX.

Opened my free stuff on the webapp (2 random, 2 gold packs). Opened a 4-2-2-2 David Silva, so not the worst thing. Nothing else that looked special. Still need to pre-order the game. Haven't messed with the Demo. Figure if I do, I'll lose interest in the game faster.

I would think that with a poker background a lot of people here are capable of being more objective about results. There are times when you are clearly just outplayed by someone who is better than you then there are the times when you can't complete a pass because the ball moves slowly and your players are out of position, can't stop hitting the post, can't win a tackle etc etc.

god ty so much. i was expecting at least one person to have that sort of response and you literally said word for word what i would have. i actually never played fut on ps3, or even on xbox on someone elses acct/xbox which i regret bc i really want to see if it's any different (lol conspiracies) but really exactly what you said. playing with a 2.5mil team full of the best IF's vs a guy using a team full of like millwall and not winning a tackle, cant possess, every post, molasses slow players, etc.

OH i should have mentioned earlier, whenever I played someone with a really good team with IF's i can 100% notice the game plays different, both teams are SO sharp, so fast, good passes, etc.

if you check the worst bronze players in the game rated like 45 you will see they are actually pretty expensive to buy BC a lot of people think if you balance out your bench with them it will even out the handicapping. i tried it but didn't really notice a difference.

I experienced it very rarely on PS3, although I recall 1 game where this dudes defenders were catching Welliton with real ease even when he had a 10 yards start through on goal. I messaged the guy afterward and he said there were no training cards used.

On 360 it seemed to happen more often, but I also noticed a lot more scummyness in general there, so IDK whether the kids have found a way to gain an edge and its being abused more on 360 than PS3.

99% of people will get someone like Andy Carroll as their best player in these packs. David Silva, already in a good formation will earn you enough to build a very decent starting team.

No kidding about the scumminess of the players, win or lose you nearly always get some kind of troll message after a game.

Hmmm actually I might hold off on Fifa 13 now, it takes up too much time anyway.

I didn't say there 100% wasn't any i just thought most people exaggerated how bad it was.
In some teams i had upto 5 or 6 IFs and other than playing hugely inferior teams (silver / bronze) then i almost never noticed the scripting / momentum.

Maybe it was worse with certain formations or something, i remember building a 4321 EPL team that should have been very solid with SIF nani and IF Arfa on the wings and it was terrible. I couldn't create any chances at all and barely won a match with it before assuming i just sucked with the formation and changing to a new one.

Hopefully this one has nothing like that in it and plays more like H2H anyways as H2H was the better gameplay but UT is just too addictive

4321 was by far the best formation in FUT imo

what is everyone rolling with this year ie formation/teams making?

Same old trusted 4222, but will inevitably have to mess around to use wingers after I get bored, then inevitably rage sell any team not in 4222 and return to crushing, lol
