I lose the ball, some **** choker bombs a ball to Ronaldo/Lavezzi/Messi/etc, gets a breakaway and scores.

Repeat 100 times.

For some reason 90%(+?) of players can't defend. I'm mediocre but because I can defend I'm currently 3-0-0 in Div 1 (first time in div 1, I don't play that much), mediocre team (76-78 rating, depending on if I need to rest anyone), default workrates, formation etc, mediocre player yet I can still get results. Until recently I was getting too many draws ending seasons like 2-7-1 and silly things like that because my chem was 70 and as I said, I'm mediocre. As soon as I got the chem to 95+ I started scoring goals and winning. Only 1 or 2 goal wins because I'm not great (also I haven't cracked manual crossing/shooting yet I suck), but winning nonetheless.

Learn how to defend yo! It's not about the tackle, it's about the positioning. Don't commit too early!

Just bomb the ball over my head and sprint. Can't go a whole game without giving up one breakaway goal.

How can I be patient in defense?


I have the ball in their end, I shot, hits a defender, they get ball, lob bomb pass, breakaway = goal.


It's not that I can't defend when I have guys back, it's all counterattack breakaways, all the time.

Don't immediately go for the steal. let them make their move then clog the passing lanes.

If you are getting beat on a ton of breakaways set your backs positioning to basically stay back and in the center of the field and alter their work rates to high defense low attack.

Also, get better at manually taking control of your CBs and sprinting as soon as the long ball is kicked.

Or better yet, before. Anticipate it, as soon as you lose possession.

This. I'm no good a defending, I usually let in 2/3 per game so puts pressure on my attacks lol but i'm also getting better at sitting back an hitting them on the counter.

Started up a career mode when I woke up early and was bored. Decided to pick PSG just as I love playing with Zlatan (no ****) IT IS SUPER ADDICTIVE.

Alot better than previous years about halfway through my first season after rejecting 3 or 4 International jobs I got offered the Northern Ireland job and snap took it 3rd in my WCQ group ATM.

The most important thing they fixed is the player progression system. Brought Fellaini from an 81 to an 84 along with Lewandowski from an 83 to an 87 among others.

As I'm managing NI also, I set up a Scouting Network in Northern Ireland for my PSG team to try and build a golden generation currently have around 8
players between 14-17 on my PSG books.

defensive mids really help v counter attacks. single best change ive made to my team on UT dont think i would have won without changin to 4 1 2 1 2. Also smart defenders like cahill, so much more useful defending the counter than speedy ones like luiz. positionally defending so much easier than chasing them.

have they been doing happy hours? i just opened 6 packs and got walcott, welbeck, sturridge. not too bad i suppose but already full trade/consumable and i think it's much more +ev to get the happy hour packs with all players.

Okay, after deciding 4-2-2-2 is a load of wank (it is, btw), going with 451 which I used with Napoli in Fifa 12 h2h and did pretty well.


Really wanted to make a team with Lavezzi, Cavani and Hamsik but it's so tough to get the chemistry right, but that will be my next project if I can get around it without Zlatan/bink Zlatan in a pack
