Ceire, which system?

have played 3 games so far - all UT online. it definitely has its share of problems and the changes to UT in general, like the graphics/interface, makes me want to poke my eyes out, which is too bad for EA since i spend a lot on UT.

as for gameplay, it's funny how easy it has been to maintain 60%+ possession without even trying to be a ballhog. at the same time the ability to pass the ball around in opponent's third of the pitch to set up a goal is an improvement.

but the two most annoying things imo are: finesse shots have become way more effective, which i didn't even know was possible. and second, i don't like the lack of pressure. it feels like i'm playing the computer AI most of the time. in FIFA11, skill moves were more effective because of the pressure, which made the game more fun. now it just feels like pass pass pass pass against computer AI that is jockeying perfectly. maybe i'll get used to it after 10 more games but it's pretty lame at the moment.

edit: oh forgot to point out a big improvement i noticed. the computer AI attackers don't just stand around like last year. they make an effort to get open/into a favorable position when i'm near the box and am looking for someone to pass it to.

going trough love/hate cycles at the beginning when still learning the game is sooooooo standard for fifa

im currently in my 1st LOVE cycle

from the limited games i played i found finesse shots to be a bit harder. didn't seem like you could just cut inside from 30 yards out anymore and loft one over the keeper every time with anyone who has curve 80+. prob gonna pick it up later. agree the menu system sucks hard now.

in the early release i was having problems being the same color jersey as the opponent in h2h matches. is it still the same layout in the full game where you separately change your team management/jerseys and then join the game? if so that's pretty stupid. i like the idea but the implementation is pretty bad.

Those club games were fun. More later.

This is my first year buying the game on PS3, I've always played on 360. Why does every ranked h2h game feel like somebody is pausing it every half second? Is this going to happen with every game?

Because of EA's awesome servers that they refuse to fix

Jesus F'ng Christ. I always wondered what they meant by "micropausing." So EA has known about this for years and still haven't fixed it. Should have gone with 360 version.

Are they done giving away free stuff on the UT web app?

the more realistic gameplay make this soooooooo much fun this year(fifa11 club was too clitchy and got boring quite fast)

ok since we all are struggling with our bad pros, here is a quick guide to leveling up faster, since some people asked me in the skype group. I don't have a problem with it, if you do well just grind your pro up through carreer/club.


It is mostly for striking/midfield

Anyway

preparation:

- first thing go to the EA creation centre, create an account and search for the time "worst midgets 11". Add it to your favorites. Now go in your fifa game, and go to "customise fifa 12" "creation centre". The team will be downloaded, now go edit it in "edit teams", change the tactic to have only one defender. They are all 160cm and with 1 general stats, that does help a bit to make it faster.

-put yourself in a 5* team.

- get the arena achievments quickly

now a few ideas to get it achievements faster :

- play versus the midgets in 4 minutes games in world class level (lot of achievement require a lot of games to be achieved and to be played in world class). Further down I'll explain when to play longer games.

- play 3 games in the snow and 10 in the rain right off the bet, its nice to get points for nothing.

- man of the match type awards : those give you some good points for stamina and speed, but somehow CPU loves to get them, moreover that you are going to have to lose quite a few balls. Generally your fellow attacker is going to get either assists (by giving you the ball) or goals (you crossing/chipping through etc). EA rating system being what it is the note increases drastically in the second half time. Thus you want to change your fellow striker and maybe the CAM at the halftime if they have a high enough grade. Now I recommend checking around 75th 80th minute, if you see someone higher, pass to him and make him lose the ball and then tackle in the wind, that should do.

- your position : be ready to change it according to what you want to improve. If you want to cross, go on the side, same goes for shoots outside the box since it is easy to R1+circle the hell of the midget goalie.

- your physical features : don't be affraid to change your size according to what you need. Since speed increases dramatically with being a dwarf, if you need to make dribbles/skills make yourself super small, and increase your size when you need headers. Same goes for traits. If you need finesse shots, get the finesse trait on. You can only backheel with the fancy flicks trait so get that one asap and you need the diving header trait to make one (duh). Change them according to your needs.

- legacy defending : even if the midgets are terribad they tend (as the cpu in Fifa 12) to love to run around with the ball. Put legacy defending and pressure the hell out of the dwarves, you'll have more time to make your achievements.

- score from close / chip in from within the box : those achievement were a bit of a pita in 11, but I found out a cool technique to get rid of both at the same time. Take Ronaldo/Messi whatev on the side, go in the box in diagonal after dribbling the midget. When the goal comes to you, pass to pro, get as close to the line as you can, and chip it in. One stone, two midgets.

- 32 yards + / chip from outside / Free kicks achievments : well either play against a mate and get him to triangle his goal out and to tackle you. Chipping from outside is relatively easy with the aforementionned technique, but still. If you score a free kick, play the next game 10 minutes so you have more time to get fouls (not easy) and get the back to back achievement.

- stupid 75% ground pass, 50% lobed pass achievements : pretty easy take the ball on the kick off go to your kicker exchange 8 ground passes with him, then 4 lobed passes with some defender every game for 25 game. Voilà.

- defending : don't do them, empire_uk will take care of the defense.

- generally : well when you make a pass, make sure the guy goes on to score. alternate the type of passes (ground, through, chipped through, crosses, ground crosses) to get all the nice pass achievements.

- play games as miedfielder (high CAM will do) to get stamina/speed

- after a while when you unlock an achievment try to go in the list see what it is, always helps. Also at the end of the game check for the 1/2 or 1/3 which require the same accomplishment in back to back games or three times in a row. Can save a lot of time.

The dribbling is so crazy. Its the best footy game ever!

Im a beast with posession but I concede so easy goals with through balls...
Its like my opponents only have counter attacks and Im always with my 2 cd's against 3 strikers.

Im switching back and forth between tilt and joy lol.

I guess I need to stop my defensiv central midfielder from going forward..
any tips against counter attacks and the through balls?

This game is very good and probably the best/most enjoyable sports game I have played in a long time

Only played Clubs so far some Observations:

Computer is better at shooting and passing now.
Finesse shots don't work aswell as 11 but are still good imo.
Computer defences aren't as hard to breakdown as before.
Goalkeepers are good.

Start a list for 360 clubs? If we can get a regular bunch of 3+ i'd be down, Also lol @ no mic for Clubs people

Anyone getting the problem of your details not sending to the EA server, i play games online after the game it keeps coming up "unable to send details to ea, please try gain later" So tilting ,just check my online hud stats and none off my games have been recorded.
