Hi mate,

not sure if you have worked it out yet, but you have probably seen people doing a double flick

just tap forward on the right stick twice quickly instead of once and youll do a mega tap on.

hope that helps mate

I have a better ratio than this but stayed in div 8 then rage quit back to FUT.

I reckon I could hit top 3 div pretty easy if I played h2h exclusively. The diff between FUT and regular FIFA is huge and takes a lot of adjusting.

What's everyone's all-world team in this year's game?

I'll have to go w/ a 4-2-3-1 even though I never use this formation

GK - Casillas

RB - Ramos RCB - Thiago Silva LCB - Pepe LB - Lahm

RDM - Schweinsteiger LDM - Xabi

RAM - Robben CF - Messi LAM - Ronaldo

ST - Ibra

Probably the best squad you could put on the field.

I mainly play 4-1-2-1-2 without much width so I would most likely use...
GK Casillas

RB Ramos
CB Silva
CB Pepe
LB Lahm

CDM Schweinsteiger
RCM Xabi
LCM Iniesta
CAM Messi
RS Ronaldo
LS Ibra

We talking FIFA or regular football?

In FIFA its completely different, some players who are average IRL are FIFA gods.

Thiago Silva for example.

Vidic Fabregas and Rooney are rubbish on FIFA. Well Rooney is decent but still not the best. Vidic and Fabregas are poor. Their real life attributes are ineffective in FIFA.

WTF difference does it make if someone uses 1-2 or abuses pace or abuses power or pressure or anything else. The idea of the game is to find a way to score more goals than the other person.

lol I rarely play the ball in the air except to change sides of play w/ my fullbacks lol. I play very realistic possession football with no abuse (maybe 60-70% possession is abuse?) and it probably actually hinders my potential to win more games!

and 1-2 long balls over the top doesn't work that well in this year's game anyways given the lack of pressure from the CBs

and yeah i wasn't talking about real life. fifa 12 all-world team.

60-70% possession can be seen as abuse and is incredibly frustrating to play against. I love doing it to opponents on the edge of their penalty area, just passing it along the front and back to midfield awaiting my chance.

But yea, Im not hating. You gotta do what you gotta do. There is a line not to cross IMO. Thats keeping ball at the back, keeper and defenders etc. Other than that, Im not gonna cry because someone 1-2 high loft passes through, oh and then cuts it back for a cheap goal. F that, if thats what you gotta do then fine.

My point is. Record a game of yourself playing.

I can near guarantee that I can pick something out about the way you play that the next man might call exploiting or whatever.

Pressure the ball? Not fair!
Cut the ball back when 2v1 on keeper? Not fair!
Score crosses? Not fair!
Smash 30 yarders in? Not fair!
Have more than 60% possession? Not fair!
Get men behind the ball when you dont have possession? Not fair!
Use through balls? Not fair!
Use lofted through balls? Not fair!
Use precision dribbling? Not fair!
Use powerful forwards? Not fair!
Do skill moves in box to earn penalties? Not fair!

You see where Im going right?

One thing annoys you and you think its not fair(AKA unrealistic, exploiting or whatever else people call it). The next person might think your style is unrealistic as well.

Bottom line is its a game, we are all(majority of FIFA gamers) 15-30 year old boys/men who happen to be competitive and like to win.

My FIFA 12 XI would be...

Neuer

Ramos
Luiz
Thiago Silva
Enrique

Yaya Toure
Xabi Alonso

Messi
Ronaldo

Rooney
Aguero

4-2-2-2

Picked Rooney just because I dont have much experience of the other top strikers. From what Ive used I would probs pick Etoo in there with Aguero. Rooney does offer a balance of everything though. Hes got a touch of pace and hes good in the air, decent passing etc. Hes not outstanding in any area(maybe strength). Aguero is a beast, pace and shot is amazing and gets more than his fair share of headed goals.

Messi is prob the best but yea I get your point. I have NAsri, Aguero and Silva in my main side and they all dribble amazingly. Also, all 3 have a killer shot.

re: complaining about the 1-2 over the top, lol. its not a glitch/failproof way to score. its used so often/effectively because people mash the sprint/pressure buttons w/ defenders and hence are susceptible to it. its just a natural counter to that style.

Really? I thought it was the best example there is on the game.

You know hes worth more than Ribery, Vidic, Aguero, Torres and every other defender/most midfielders on FUT.

Few points of frustration for me...

1) Does anyone, ever, get a player sold? When I was starting FUT I managed to nab Gomez, 86, in a pack. Didn't fit in whatsoever with my squad so thought I'd make a decent amount, but it looks like he's going for around 8-12k in most auctions and never being sold, I'd rather keep him than let him go for 6-7k, if I even got that. I have a dismal success rate of selling any level of player, despite checking what the going rate is and asking for less. Maybe its persistent but I've been taking 600 coins quick sell for alot of shiny players 75-80 just to free up the trade pile.

2) RT, L2, Jockey. Have never really used it at all in FIFA untill recently, where it seems to occasionally win headers I really shouldn't be winning, or shrugging off heavy pressure. The problem is its erratic and I'm not really in control/understand how to use it. It seems to be the answer to the question I ask when amazing players seem to destroy me with average players, like winning every ****ing header no matter what, or shrugging me off the ball with a weaker, slower player from a position where you know you shouldn't be letting them.

3) Forget the third thing..

Oh yeah...do you guys use Auto-Switch, Manual, and Low or High movement switch? I've tried every combination and there are different leaks with every single option, which is frustrating because good opponents exploit the **** out of them. Right now I'm using auto-switch and Low, despite its problems.

also very interested in the jockeying question
FIFA 12 Quote
11-08-2011 , 11:23 AM
I use Jockey to defend, havent used it for header(will now). I use it occassionally, vs very good players or to showboat to do precision dribbling.

Everyone uses manual switch.

FUT players values go right down after the first 3 weeks of FUT. The top players go higher. Thats just the way it is. Supply and demand.
FIFA 12 Quote
11-08-2011 , 11:45 AM
X is best for 'jockeying' as it keeps the defender between attacker and goal.

Manual switch is by far the best option, but the problem with it, and it's a ****ing huge problem at times is getting the right player selected in time - on past FIFAs it has been perfect but i'm sure they're nerfed it on this one as often it can take up to 5player changes to get the defender i want selected and yes that's using both methods, but it rarely costs goals as when an attacker is really advancing on your goal you just select the nearest player to ball which is easy.

Re. winning headers - a big thing is backing or pushing into your opponent.

Edit: Just used that double flick ball method works real nice on the counter, can't see Benz use it on the replay but can see the distance he's running in to, i really like this goal though it's uber simple it just looks really authentic http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/101840449
