It can be a bit mean sometimes though. Fun, but brutal if you mess up in just the right way.

I was low on water for quite awhile, and tried to rush the Water System. I got attacked by roaches and it took out like 25 people before I could kill them. I'd go to the room they were in, try and arm the residents, and they were dead too fast. I had about 8k in caps I had plans for, but they all went towards reviving everyone.

Haha that does sound brutal. I have since got it working again by hard reset. but still crashes pretty frequently. I think I got lucky with the early lunchboxes. Scored a heavy flamer, sniper rifle and Colonel Autumn so havn't had protection issues. I cant figure out how to get caps though. Are they all from rushing rooms or what?

Leveling up, and occasionally (meaning randomly) from collecting supplies from regular rooms also gives caps.

The big money is in sending people out into the wasteland. They always come back with a ton of guns, uniforms and caps. Send out 2-5, arm them with the best guns, best armor and 3-5 health packs and RadAways. 2-4 hours, send them back, re-up them on the same as before, and send 'em out again!!

I also did spend about $25 in real money on those damn boxes within the first 2 days. Haven't gotten any since then, but I'm sure I will again at some point. I'm at 128 people now, and all 3 of my needed categories of supplies are in the green. Power and water dip into the red when I don't revisit for a few hours, but it gets back after 1 or 2 run throughs.

Pulled two rare dwellers in my early lunchboxes, one was a totally badass level 37 dweller with some nice gear. I am now up to about 40 dwellers. Having fun but hoping the gameplay has more to offer down the road.

BTW, how do you use a stimpak or radaway on your guys that are out exploring?

I knew I was missing something. Had no idea you could even send people out into the wasteland.

I'll get excited when they announce that vats has been removed or replaced.

Am I the only one that liked VATS? It admittedly got a little tedious as the game went on but I appreciated that it hearkened back to the original games while also mixing up the combat found in every other FPS.

You can't buy you can hear them up with some before they go. If they're out while exploring, recall them. Once they're on the way back, they can't be hurt or touched.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure VATS is a very well liked feature by the fans. And if you don't care for it, then how about you just don't use it or invest any skills into it? Why is that so hard?

I personally loved VATS, but to each their own.

Because its a terrible FPS if you try to play it that way.

At least one fan didn't like VATS http://www.escapistmagazine.com/vide...3-Bethesda-RPG

VATS would be better if it was made into a nerfed perk.

You do realize VATS usage is totally optional?

It's not a FPS, it's an RPG with passive stats influencing countless aspects of the game including VATS. And again, it's optional.

And if you choose not to use it its a ****ty FPS so that's your choice ****ty FPS or vats.

Hey look I liked the game game. I like the story the setting the side quests but as an FPS it was substandard and Vats was underwhelming. I'm just saying it needs the courage to choose what it is either build a really strong, satisfying, intelligent tactical combat engine or a good satisfying FPS but don't present the choice of two broken play-styles and pretend that everything's good.

If you're playing Fallout for the shooting mechanics you're doing it wrong. That's like playing Skyrim for the melee combat.

I love vats and if you take it away I will stab you.

VATS is great, a wonderful merger of the Fallout 1/2 combat system with modern FPS mechanics.

Eh it had some pretty good jokes...I was more annoyed with his dig on Washington DC. I enjoyed VATS for the aforementioned reasons but also agree that it could have been stronger tactically (i.e. too easy to headshot everything, not enough benefit to crippling limbs). Also no shooting in the balls, a proud tradition which was continued by the little-heralded (but really good!) Bulletstorm.

Any info out on what it'll take to run Fallout 4 on PC?

I'm replaying Fallouts 3 and New Vegas before the new one comes out. Two of my favorite moments from the old:

F3: Tagging along as the ghouls take Tenpenny Tower floor by floor.

FNV: Caesar's tent is the perfect size for stepping in and firing off two pulls on the missile launcher. You take down everyone except for yourself and sometimes Benny.

I dunno.... I think I may have to pass on this one. I still haven't started the MG5 single player and am finally starting to get the hang of the MP so its actually fun. The Uncharted Collection has yet to even be opened yet and I still play TLOUFactions semi-regularly.

There just isn't the time to play a game like Fallout4. At least not for quite awhile.
