Yeah that just shows releasable nations. Map start is still only Portugal, Castile, Aragon, and Granada.

1633 and nowhere to go

I'm PLC, currently allied with France, Bohemia, Sweden, Timmies (who are apparently just awesome now, they've crushed every game I've played since Dharma went live) and Crimea is my vassal. Rivals are Ottomans, Muscovy, Aragon. I managed to get one of the provinces Muscovy needed to form Russia so no Russia. But Muscovy is still pretty strong, and they're allied with Ottomans so I can't attack one without fighting them both and I'm obv not strong enough yet. Bohemia has cores of mine/mission objectives so I guess I go there but attacking into the HRE has caused problems in the past. I've spent a good deal of the past 100 years just staring at the screen :/

Another downside to not having a Russia is Ming is just crushing unchecked in the east

I'd absorb Crimea and blast through Timmy to solve a lot of your ills

or if you want that alliance still, Bakshiria and Chagatai and head east maybe?

The usual "attack one of their allies to bust up the big alliance" play seems good too, if it's possible

If you don’t want to fight your neighbors just no CB dec on someone faraway and/or start colonizing.

Trying to work this out but it's tricky, Bak is allied with Timmies and Chag is a Ming tributary

Tunis maybe depending on who they are allied to. Leapfrogging around Africa to get to SE Asia is another option.

You could just wait for 1680-1700 (depending on situation with tech cost reductions and what not) to get imperialism and just declare on whoever.

Timmies broke alliance because they want some of Crimea's **** so the situation has resolved itself

This seems like a pretty good Castille start? Not ironman, sadly, but I've not availed myself of any takebacksies.

It's 1550. I've got eight colonial nations, an heir on the throne of Denmark (ft. Sweden), Naples and Savoy under PU, and my vassals are Tlemcen

Spoiler:
and France, because why not.

Map kind of cuts off but I or Tlemcen have everything up to the edge of the Mamluks.

Still FMLing being broke when everything was 25-50% a couple of months ago.

Basically all of the expansions except Dharma and Rule Britannia are 50% off on the Paradoxgames webpage. Think it will get a better discount later? Anything I'm missing?

They haven't gone below 50% in past 2 years. IMO a mistake on PDX's part, but that's how it is. You can find them bit cheaper on cd-key selling sites as the games have regional pricing so they are quite a bit cheaper in some non-EU, non-NA countries.

(Steam halloween sale also starts tomorrow, so if you have steam funds you might want to wait for it.)

I got everything for 57% off during the summer sale

They had a 1 day sale in August on the Paradox website where everything but the latest expansion was 75% off. It sucks, Paradox DLC used to go on sale for 75% off all the time. At this point they need to do what MMOs do and role older expansion into the base game, have all expansion but the last 2 or 3 part of the base package.

It was probably one of the bundles? Those go over 50%, but comes with a lot of fluff like visual unit upgrades and music packs.

Very nice. In my current game Aragon controls most of Iberia and Castile has completely relocated the nation to Brazil.

Pretty sure that the steam 57% sale had a bunch of 'content packs' which I couldn't care less about, and effectively with those its less than just buying the expansions at 50% from paradox now. Either way, guess I'll just hold out for the next sale.

I'm not sure exactly what all I got but it was around $220 worth of content (pre-Dharma ldo) for about $100. I'll look at my account tonight and see exactly what all was included and post a screenshot.

I got the impression that it wasn't the first time they had run that special, but that's strictly speculation as the only time I'd looked before everything was full price and I wasn't ready to pull the trigger. If not for DW PMing me about it I would have missed it entirely.

Never mind I can just log into my account, duh

Here's what I paid and what I got (it was 56% not 57%):

They call Third Rome and Rule Brittania "immersion packs" but I'm not sure how that differs from garden variety DLC

'Empire Founder Pack' part of the Halloween sale up until Nov 1, which has a bunch of stuff I already have plus rights of man 55% off. Heard this is one of the better dlcs/expansions so I am buying out of principle.
