I assume you mean the larger view in game? Click the mana cost chart and it will switch you between views.

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

has a game ever considered not printing retarded broken combos so that players can play a consistent deck without the possibility of pulling off a retarded broken combo consistently?

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

Still very early in the single player content, past the tutorials, i.e., they just started giving me the chance to mulligans. Second game, I draw 9 lands and 4 cards. Wow, that brings back memories. **** that. There's too many well-designed games to be bothering with terrible mechanics made in 1990.

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

Is there a way to divide damage when blocking? Say I have 8 attack. If they block, it gives me the chance to pick who I want to damage. So it'll show an 8. Is there a way to divide it up?

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

Playing a standard rakano aggro deck. It's turn 3 and my opponent's board is empty. I'm holding both crownwatch deserter and sword of icaria. What's my play?

My gut reaction is to play the sword and go face to get the war cry activation now, unless they have the appropriate mana open for torch or lightning strike, in which case I play the deserter. Does that sound alright?

Yeah this is a valid criticism and I'm not sure if I'll stick with the game for this reason. Lots of games are over before they start.

I think it divides the damage by asking you which blocker you want to damage first, then second, and so on until you run out of either blockers or damage.

I guess that's my question. How do you change the number then? How would I attack the first block with 5 and the second block with 3? I couldn't figure out how to change the number. I was smacking a 2 with all 8 damage.

That almost sounds like a bug, because it should hit the first guy you picked for two and then move onto the next for the other six. Like, you can't choose a number but it shouldn't have wasted the other 6 damage, either. Weird.

In hearthstone its always minions / tempo above everything else but in this game it might be different, i'd still probably try to play the minion though especially since its an aggro deck

Like right now I'm playing against the first round of The Strangers. They have a 2/2, 2/2, and 2/2. I'm attacking with a 5/6.

When I attack, all of the enemies are blocking my one guy. But it's only showing me with a 5 to block. Hoooow do I divide it up so I can hit 2 on one and 2 or 3 on the other?

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

it does that automatically. you pick the first one to damage, then the second one, then the third, etc as long as you have damage remaining.

Okay. Well it just worked that time. Hmm..maybe I wasn't noticing it before that I could keep clicking and just went with one blocker and then did the attack...I don't know. That was frustrating!

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

You aren't missing anything, you just click the enemies in the order you want to damage. It will do as much attack as it can, if it kills the target any remaining attack goes to the next target and so on. The animation doesn't really indicate that it's only doing 2 to one and then 2 to the next.

If you attack with a 5/6 and they block with 3 2/2s two of their dudes should die. If that's not what's happening then there is some bug going on with you.

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

I just had a situation where it was like 2/2, 2/2, 3/4 vs my 4/5. I did my attack with my 4/5. They sent in all of their cards to block. It asked me to divide it up. I tried clicking on the first 2/2, but it didn't let me click it. And then I clicked the middle 2/2 and it just immediately blocked.

I think that's how it went. It definitely didn't let me click the first 2/2 though.

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

Was this vs the AI because the AI would never block that way, it would block only with one 2/2 and the 3/4 in that situation, so maybe you missed exactly how blockers were declared? Before you assign damage you can hover over the attacker and the units that are blocking it will be indicated with a shield.

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

if this happens again take a screenshot because you have to be missing something. as da_fume said the AI literally never "over blocks" like that (which is why its easy to abuse the AI with combat tricks)

Yes, this was vs the AI. I'll keep an eye on it next time. I have to run out so I can't play anymore right now. I just finished the decks campaign tutorial. I'm now playing vs. The Strangers.

You answered another question I had. The block sequence is fast and I can never remember who is blocking who. I'll have to see if the game shows me that in some way. In one of my last 2 games I wanted to block the person who was going to hit me, but I couldn't remember which ones were blocking my guy. I think I picked the wrong one.

I'll take screenshots next time.

I mean, there is always gonna be RNG in a card game. Sometimes in hearthstone you draw every card at the top of your curve and get pooped on.

You can make decks more consistent by using cheap cantrips/fixing/etc. That helps but doesn't fully solve it.

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

This is a super spicy draft deck:

1 Dark Return (Set1 #250)
1 Direfang Spider (Set1 #256)
1 Levitate (Set1 #190)
1 Permafrost (Set1 #193)
1 Rapid Shot (Set1 #259)
1 Unstable Form (Set1 #189)
1 Cloudsnake Saddle (Set1 #199)
2 East-Wind Herald (Set1 #201)
2 Lightning Strike (Set1 #197)
1 Scavenging Vulture (Set1 #265)
1 Violent Gust (Set1 #205)
1 Blackguard Sidearm (Set1 #266)
2 Cobalt Acolyte (Set1 #212)
1 Execute (Set1 #277)
1 Skysnapper (Set1 #208)
2 Xenan Destroyer (Set1 #281)
1 Deranged Dinomancer (Set1 #223)
2 Feeding Time (Set1 #381)
2 Jarrall's Frostkin (Set1 #220)
1 Lethrai Falchion (Set1 #285)
1 Soaring Stranger (Set1 #229)
1 Sapphire Dragon (Set1 #236)
9 Primal Sigil (Set1 #187)
7 Shadow Sigil (Set1 #249)
1 Cobalt Monument (Set1 #418)

Was a super difficult build, had to cut a levitate, Xenan Destroyer, Jarral's Frostkin, and 2x Cabal recruiter.

Started off 2-2 and was scared, but ended up 7-2.

Re: Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone)

Another 7-1. Elysian mid-range / echo draft. I think I got lucky I didn't encounter any well put together aggro, as the range peaks in the 3's/4's and I didn't really have much removal. The little bit of warcry stuff I played wasn't able to get things buffed up in time and I was playing monsters by the time they got their buffed up units out.

Also, putting out a turn 4 7-5 flyer when you hit the Wrangler, Mentor, Pteriax combo == instant concede.

how does the draft actually work? I hear streamers talk about a "color being open" but obviously it can't be one set of people like a magic draft given the timing

The packs you get passed are all ones that have had cards taken from them by the same players (at a different time).

So, lets say I finish all my picks from the first pack of a draft. This leaves 11 packs with between 11-1 cards left. You take 1 card from your fresh pack, then go through taking a card from each of "my" packs, again leaving 11 packs with 11-1 cards left. And the cycle continues like that.

You get packs from the same group of players in packs 1-3 and 2-4. So if you notice Fire is really open in pack 1, it will probably be open in pack 3. Same for packs 2 and 4.

I believe the packs are basically just put in a queue and go through the same order. So it's the same idea but as if there is 12 people at the table and not 8. So you never get your pack passed back to you (thus eliminating any need to wait for the person before you to finish).

Someone else mentioned here that P1/P3 follow the same order and P2/P4 use a different order, to simulate the process of changing direction at the table.
