Nah, there's a ton of people running that praxis token deck with Arcanum Monitor. Gives me an excuse to play clockroaches.

Not sure how to counteract those decks, maybe just run armory with 4 harsh rules and lots of removal?

I went back and modified an old brew of mine that I'm pretty excited about - TPS with Dawnwalker, Xenan Cultist, False Prince, Impending Doom, Obelisk, Haunting Scream. Have only tested it out in Gauntlet but it feels like it runs really naturally - DW turn 3, Cultist/Obelisk turn 4 and you are in business. Will mess around with it more later.

Yeah I don't know what it is but I'm getting smoked at the start of this season - seems like everyone is rocking that Praxis deck or Big Combrei. My doomwalker deck didn't seem to get me anywhere, though it's at least fun to play.

Doomwalkers play well with the beast creation weapon. Try that. Yellow and purp.

This will be short lived I'm sure, but I'll take it while it lasts.

I had a 7 win draft today too, was pretty proud of that - mostly Combrei but splashed red to play Frontline Cyclops, Worldfire Phoenix, and Stonescar Maul.

Congrats on the 7 win! I just got a 7-1 last night. Was at 6-0 and failed to convert the perfect draft once more. It was a pretty sick draft, the people passing me packs were obviously not in shadow and I was getting bomb rare's passed to me and cards like Feeding Time as 5th pick. Had Steward of the Past, Ashara & Umbren Reaper in 1 draft deck. It was like I was playing constructed.

Drafted a fun TPS control deck - guys just conceded to me after I cast Touch of Umbren on his Reality Warden :wink:. It's like I keep thinking I'll get tired of this game but games and drafts play so differently each time, thanks to the large decks.

Just ran into a variant that deck, it's pretty brutal if you don't have a good answer for Cirso. He had some rain of frogs in there as well.

I fell victim to that deck due to my unbridled greed.

Heh it's fun because of how unapologetically bad the deck is. People are crushing the curve with Instigators and Sandstorms and I'm dropping grizzly bears. If you don't draw a soaring or grim you often just lose. An overwhelming stranger would push this up the tier list.

I made a stranger deck but it doesn't seem that great, probably FPS with awakened student and combrei emissary. Will try a build more like yours and see how it plays. How about stand together since you need a lot of combrei in that deck as it is?

yeah most of the internet brews have stand together and more spot removal from torch/purple/vanquish.

cant see a deck playing fire without four torch...pretty much the best card in the game

Managed to play myself down to Silver last night, not sure if I'm running bad or if all my decks are just gimmicky garbage. I seem to do much worse when I play at night here (West Coast time in US), not sure why that is. Gonna mess around with that Calderan/Spymaster deck and see how that does for me.

I have never drafted Shadow/Fire deck in a draft (maybe like ~20 drafts this far). This deck looks good however.

I just thought from the get go that the multicolor cards just require too much work (Combust, Bloodrite Kalis, even Treachery) and Smuggler's Stash seems better in Fire/Justice deck as a splash. If you don't get all the pieces, the deck seems to fall on its face.

Add Mirror Image to your deck in place of something else and you actually have a one-turn-kill combo.

Mirror Image (your missing card) in the void
Cabal in play for repeated infiltrates
West-Wind Herald in play to play spell from void (Mirror Image)
Play Gunsmith, activate all infiltrates, mirror image the gunsmith, repeat.

Thanks I think it was in there but I removed it because I didn't understand how it played. Deck is kinda slow and dies to tokens (added plague to try and deal with them but not liking it so far).

Finally broke down and decided to grab some decks directly off the tier list on RNG Eternal and just make them with my shiftstone (usually I do my own versions of the decks) - Icaria Blue by LightsOutAce is the nuts so far. Seems to have answers to everything except maybe Burn or I guess the occasional Feln Control/Azindels Gift.

I've been grinding ranked, went from silver 2 to gold 1 yesterday with a pretty high winrate. Then today happens, I'm now gold 3 and I'm only 4 out of 7 wins for my daily quest. Not sure what's going on, but it feels like all three of my decks are useless on ladder.
