Made master at Forge but still **** all in everything else. I wish opening packs was more fun but I keep getting the same useless garbage, including repeats of rares (stupid Lifedrink Sanguar or whatever it's called) and zero legendaries. Did manage to bink one in each of my last 2 forges though - nothing great but crushed with the Rakano that makes armor.

I've been struggling with that last rank of Forge... but admittedly, when I have the gold I generally just go draft.

Forge gets pretty BS at high levels. You get to select from a janky ass mix of cards and then get play against decks running like, multiple Impending Doom's and **** like that.

What are the premium rares/legendaries I should be crafting to start? No color preference, just go tinker with mono decks. I guess we can even do uncommons

Black-Sky Harbinger x4
Statuary Maiden x4
Deepforged Plate x2
Soulfire Drake x2
Siraf x4
Sandstorm Titan x4
Marshall Ironthorn x4
Mystic Ascendant x4
The Great Parliament x4
Icaria, the Liberator x1
Sword of the Sky King x1
Starsteel Daisho x1
Bandit Queen x3

Are all used in poplar decks and are legends

There are so many rares and uncommons that see play that it isn't worth the time to list them out

Nice, that's a nice list. I got a Bandit Queen in my last draft but don't think I got to play it once...

I barely see any Rakano aggro at the top 500. Seems to be infested with armory at the moment. The premier tournament has 2/16 Rakano decks in the top 16. It definitely is the best cheap deck though.

I'd suggest picking a deck you are interested in and then building towards it rather than just ho-hum crafting things.

Once you've got your first deck together, you'll find that other decks share a lot of the same key rares and can act as a pivot point towards picking another deck to build that you are already 75% of the way towards.

Rowing would still fix this. That way you COULD always go up to 8 or w/e, but there would be real cost to it.

Pretty cool that they give you free decks sometimes just for logging in. Got a fire/justice one today and while it's crap as constructed, it has a few nice rares I wanted for my armory deck. Also made a mono primal deck for yesterday's challenge which crushed in Gauntlet, then binked 2 legendaries in packs including another red/green I wanted. I can see how people get into this whole F2P thing - very rewarding to log in, play daily challenges, and earn rewards towards your next draft...

they've got the addictive model down perfectly

Thing is I would probably be more willing to pay if things were cheaper, though I imagine there's a reason the model exists the way it does. If I could buy drafts for $1-$2 each I'd probably spend $5-$10 a week on them whereas now I haven't spent a dime and am not planning on doing so until the app release on iOS. I don't think it's unreasonable but I paid something like $5-6 total to be able to play FTL on my PC and iPad and I could probably get 300 hours out of it...

I think it is clearly designed with the intent for people to play constructed instead of only drafting.

With prizes it's a lot closer to $2 than $5 a draft, especially if you don't do quests in constructed

I'm definitely getting a little tired of the mana system. I think my main issue is it seems that you exhaust cards in hand much more quickly than Hearthstone or Magic, but there are relatively few mana sinks compared to either of those. Even if the sink is a really crappy rate (something like pay 8 to deal 3 damage to the enemy player), it would feel less bad to hit your 12th sigil in a topdeck war.

You can easily create a Canadian IOS account and download the client- it's released there.

There are guides on TouchArcade if you need a walkthrough of how to do it without a payment method.

Good point though I'll have to up my win rate to meet that. Not sure what you mean by the second part, wouldn't there be more value in doing quests?

Well if you only do drafts, if you get the quests while paying money for them you'd get it back from that instead of grinding constructed. It's just moving around numbers to make it sound better

I feel like manafloods especially are deciding a lot of games, more than in MTG. Might be because there is so little cardadvantage?

I also find that most decks in draft need to run a lot of low impact cards to keep up early. If you hit a patch of the ones/twos/lands later you are in trouble.

there seems to be very little card draw in this game
Eternal CCG (rip hearthstone) Quote
02-24-2017 , 11:37 PM
It's a combination of lack of card draw and lack of mana sinks.

Magic has a decent number of creatures (at least for limited) that are decently statted bodies (3 mana 2/2), that have a mediocre costed ability to impact the board. It's not your first choice to spend 8 mana to deal 3 damage, but it feels a lot better than doing absolutely nothing.

Just started playing this, and I'm enjoying it so far. I don't get the criticisms about mana issues; good or bad, it seems like this game is at least better than mtg when it comes to rng.

Dumb question: how do I find out what level I'm at for things like forge? I know that I've ranked up at least once, but I poked around and couldn't find my current rank on any screen...I must just be missing it.
