I'm assuming solo arena is easy to get 9 wins right?

easy to get 6+... easy to get 9 when theres no bull**** matchups.

Theres usually gonna be at least 1 or 2 unfair though, but those are winnable.

And sometimes more than unfair...

i play a ton of ranked personally but i bought a 60 packs early on cause i cant help myself. the grind must be really long without a single cent in the game, lets be real.

hard to gain gold playing versus arena I feel so either solo arena or just grind some non-arena multiplayer ( helps more at getting better than bots too).

also tried to find out which cards are bad in every archetypes and dust dat **** off asap

They get harder each run as you rank up. So far I've gone 9 5 of 7 times.

While the gold rewards for Versus Arena aren't very good for going infinite (150-160), you build a collection much faster than Solo Arena. 7 wins gets you 150-160 gold, 3-4 packs, and a bunch of dust. Plus since you guys are new players you'll get 50 extra gold for the 'Promotion Reward' all the way up to rank 1.

What deck are you using to climb with?

archer that I modified many times

I actually love the one giant I use, that most archers dont(havent seen anyone running it i think?), won me a lot more games than some cards that some variations include.

Especially when u grab him from a thief guild's recruit and he costs 6.

*here it is: just won my last 7 in a row at rank 2

Still not sure about the two withered hand cultists. Thing is with them I notice when they cost me some good plays but I cant know what they actually stopped my opponent from doing, so considering that I guess it has probably been really good but I just dont know when they were crucial, lol. their base stat is great so its another good card to help mulliganing

That's pretty similar to my list and I'm at #123 legend right now. I would definitely add the the 3rd Cultist. The Cultist is pretty vital against control mage and combo battlemage lists.

yeah its weird but i havent played a single combo mage out of like my last 100 games (after adding them -.-)

I was thinking of maybe removing a daring cutpurse (or all 3)

I swear i never drew one as prophecy lol.

Also maybe adding a 3rd soulrest marshal i saw that almost every lists only had two but im really not sure why.

Also not sure about the number of burn and pillage to play. Three seemed too much.

you play anything else?

The only changes I'd make to your deck are -2 blood dragon and -1 Giant for a 3rd Cliff Racer, Marshall and Cultist. Blood Dragon is just not good enough against Scouts and Mages imo. Being able to topdeck lethal is pretty important in those matchups. And I'm just not a fan of the Giant.

I played Prophecy Assassin all last season but it got weaker with the increase in Scout Ramp decks. This season I just played Combo Battlemage and Archer all the way to legend. Havnt played much ranked after that since I'm grinding Arena to build my collection up.

noooooooooo dont say that I crafted those two dragons with my sweat and blood(dragons).

Theyve been really good too .

giant has only been bad to javelins so far from what I can tell, won me multiple games though. One of the few cards that I feel breakthrough can make a big difference

I just wish we could abuse the -2 mana more on the thiefs draws than only with tazkad

I've seen a lot of players use them to success so it's not that huge of a deal. Archer is one of the decks that has a ton of variants and player preference choices. Some people like Aggro lists with Mournhold Traitor and some like more controlly versions with Wrothgar Forge. Just a fun color combo to play all around.

The Giant is also pretty weak in the Mirror match and vs Scout. Leaflurker/Finish off just makes it such a blowout when they have it.

Yah we can't really abuse Thieves Guild Recruit much but I just treat it as another enabler for Finish Off/Leaflurker that also cycles. Best case scenario it hits Tazgad and you pretty much win the game.

do you feel daring cutpurse is one of the weaker cards? i know old lists didnt usually run it and im not sold yet.

helps with mulligan though of course :/

I think it's one of the best green cards in general. Old lists got to run Murkwater Savage pre-nerf which was a 2/2 for 2 that got +1/+1 for every green creature played after that. Basically just an insane version of Cutpurse, but after the nerf everyone pretty much made the switch.

You really want to get the lifelead early on to activate your Soulrests and Jarls asap. That's the way you get the most free wins. Coining out a Cutpurse on turn 1 basically assures that and snowballs you a great creature.

Any tips as an arena noob regarding the best classes to pick? I read int/agi is the best and failing that look for int or agi mixed with str and willpower? I found a tier list Google doc on Reddit but also not too sure to trust it or not. Are there any other resources you can recommend?

found a decent aggro mage deck i could actually craft. i forgot how much it sucks having no cards in a card game. I was doing decent, no idea what I'm doing really but just using fundamentals i won most of my games

I have no idea how to build a deck in this game.

Seems card draw is very limited, I'm always running out of cards.

Also with 50 cards minimum, I feel the need to have a very low curve, so I fill my deck with cheap cards. I'm worried that if I put too many high cost cards I'll end up with them in my hand early and given how big the deck is, never draw into my cheap stuff.

I think that's also why I run out of cards, with cheap cards you tend to play more per turn later on.

the deck in that video, I've made some card upgrades to it but it's a basic aggro deck, get early board lead and snowball it. Actually plays a lot like shaman from HS

My thinking is I develop the free lane first because it's harder for them to take back tempo than in the shadow lane. You also need to know when to slow down when you're way ahead because if control or midrange stabilize against you you basically lose and if you've popped 4 of their runes they have a full hand.

The biggest difference cards wise I'm noticing in this game is it seems like there are very few outrightly "bad" cards compared to hearthstone. I haven't given everything a really hard look but I mean hearthstone has at absolute best had maybe 40% of cards being playable even when everything was new. I have a hard time in this game deciding what cards to cut in a deck because their stat lines and effects all seem okay. The only card where I raised an eyebrow at was that blue? 8 mana 4/4 that deals 4 dmg to creature. That seems awful.

HS has like very ridiculous OP cards and crazy underpowered ones, there seems to be hardly any middle ground

Don't know any really good arena resources but watching some good players on twitch could help a lot.

Yah Blue/Green is probably my favorite color combination. I like playing anything with blue and if that isn't an option than Green/Purple.

Try drafting a decent amount of prophecies. With only 30 cards decks, popping a prophecy card is much more likely than in constructed. I like having at least 5-6 of them in my deck.

Draft a solid early game curve that way you'll never really just lose to bad starting hand RNG. Creatures that pump others up are very good as well to let your early creatures '2 for 1' your opponents.

You guys can also add me in game. IGN: SJUD
