Where do you get the meta snapshots for ESL?

Can anyone recommend an aggro Daggerfall Mage list?

This site has the meta breakdown and other articles. The meta tier lists are usually pretty incorrect though.

The only 'aggro' daggerfall mage list would be mage tokens. It's more of a midrange and control card. The best midrange blue deck is probably assassin right now but it's still not very good.

yeah I probably have like a 80% WR vs. assassins on ladder.

I made a Daggerfall Mage deck with Ancano and 1x Atromancer (only have 1) but it felt like it wants to be faster.

The meta is super aggro heavy right now so Atro is definitely way too slow

I started this season at rank 5 and moved up to rank 3 pretty easily.

I've been playing a bunch of different meta decks, switching it up a lot, just depending on mood or boredom. I stagnated at rank 3 for weeks. I wasn't trying to climb, but I wasn't playing meme decks either, everything was valid. I was pretty much 50% win rate juggling decks.

I decided to just play token crusader as my main deck for awhile and I did begin to climb, up to the middle of rank 2 now. Of all the different decks I've tried it seems overall best in the current meta.

Even still it can easily lose, you lose when you get a super bad starting hand and miss your turn 1/2 plays, you lose when you run up against a token deck that gets board control first, you lose when you run up against a control deck that just has perfect removal and heals and AOE, etc.

Even still, it fares the best against the widest range of other meta decks, at least for me.

I started playing this game a couple of days ago (I'm Illioth if people want to add me) and have just finished my first two vs Arena runs and got to 7 wins on both of them. Does ranking up in Arena mean you will face better players (similar to in solo) or is what I've played against representative of the general level of play?

You should be getting matched up with people that have the same record in the current Arena as you do.

What's that about? google only reports that he was "quitting" earlier this year because of Supreme Atromancer or something?

I did some searching and eventually found something on reddit about it that says the rank is irrelevant and that you're only matched based on record, as you say. I was mostly just surprised that the level of play felt very low, even a few wins into the run (and that's coming from someone who has only been playing for 2 days and barely even knows the cards). Maybe I just got lucky in match ups or something, I'll see how future runs go.

He's a good player but he whines and complains constantly about everything. Very thin skinned and fragile ego. Totally not surprised he'd "quit" with some long drama-queen rant.

Your opinion (which I dont agree with), but most of the good players are quitting or have quit the game already. Also, saying he's just a 'good' player is underselling it quite a bit. He's one of the best players in the game (prolly #1 according to most people)

Hardly any of the good players play arena anymore. It's mostly for newer players.

So why is everyone quitting? What's the problem in your opinion (or what are they saying is the problem)? Same thing as turquoise?

Lack of tournaments and prizes is a huge issue for a lot of players. Bethesda has basically decided to invest no money in tournaments while other games are having them right off the bat. Also, there is no reward for finishing high on the ladder which takes an insane amount of time grinding for.

2 more top players pdmd and nerrazurri also quitting after this season apparently.

Yeah it's insane. Didn't they throw like 1 mill at a quake tourney while it's still in beta? They have such a good product too it's a shame.

Yah, a lot of players are switching to Hand of the Gods which was just released and already have tournaments announced.

I'm hoping there's an announcement from Bethesda in the next couple of days regarding their vision for the future of the game. Expansions, tournaments etc...

A lot of people are super greedy and bad in arena. I've been tracking runs in a spreadsheet and have won 7 in 5 of my last 6 runs.

I was crushing like that and now I've hit a ton of bad runs in a row.

ETA to be fair, I did manage to draft two of the worst decks I've ever had, and both were scouts which may in fact suck in arena.

Maybe they should just do like Blizzard does with HS: When the meta approaches an unplayable state, vomit a hundred or so new cards out and take everyone's mind off it for a month or so.

But it seems like tournaments would be an easy fix so they should probably just do that.
