Getting top 10 is basically like a full time job.

So is Bethesda really just going to let this game die?

New content out later this month supposedly but yeah, it seems ridic. Better game than HS but with pretty terrible marketing etc behind it. Everyone I know who tried it from HS doesn't really go back, so its really just a matter of people not knowing its out there. Feels like when they didn't have an immediate massive hit on their hands they kind of gave up. Also, I personally don't care about any competitive scene, but the lack of one is a big problem since it pretty much signals how little they care about growing the game.

Don't think its in any danger of "dying" any time soon though. I'm hoping the new expansion is combined with literally any marketing push to bring in some new players. Twitch drops and the mobile release had a pretty massive influx of new people, so hopefully new content will do the same.

I mean most content creators are leaving. I don't want to throw money at the expansion if it's just going to flame out.

I wish they'd make another RPG if they're not going to market this one properly. I've still got way more hours in Skyrim and Oblivion and Morrowind than I can possibly hope to get in this game.

It's a shame, they've done such a better job creating a combat system way more interesting than HS and done a better job of balancing the classes/cards.

The game stayed in beta too long and they took far too long to release the mobile app. They've been playing catch-up ever since. Their high-profile streamers have told them repeatedly what they need to do to save it but will they listen?

Not a bad game, as this seems to have the same aspects as Hearthstone and some from the Eternal, and not too many big removal spells as far as I saw after playing this game vs. Al the whole day. I might prefer Eternal at this point, although it is a no money game also, but I see no reason to take hearthstone more seriously at this time (30 level characters and 10 to 20 on other regions), but if the tourneys get ingame, I am sold.

Eternal does have tourneys, while TESL seems as expensive as HS, being a sort of a copy in major ways. So, they are nto going to develop competitive scene for this game any time soon? Too bad, as I am all for competitive tourney scene.

50 cards and no mana cards, two type of class cards, also. Pretty good. just feels a bit slow at this time compared to HS, but it is too fast and furious, that one "overplays" the opponent on the board and then he draws a miracle card, and that's about it, although one still often wins, but it sucks enough for one to consider alternatives, especially as now HS costs one way or the other more than it ever has; 3 expansions per year and it isn't enough to have just some gods or druids decks now, or maybe Hunters (lol, although it is serious also).

but I expect this game to be as expensive, but see no reason to push this much when the competitive scene isn't what I want it to be. Even Gwent has well mapped competitive scene with 10k+ licensed tourneys and under 10k unlicensed tourneys, and the big 250k tourney, although I suspect there is rather few tourneys running at this time, and the game is also somewhat weird, when it isn't even clear if one should aim to win or lose the first round there.

Eternal doesn't have as bad wipeout spells as HS has, but mostly warlock type of kill all minions, to put it simply. And it seems cheaper, having got 70% of all card in two weeks without paying a cent. And there is some tourney action on regular bases, but I would like there to be more money, but that game seems more nerd friendly rather than recreational, that also shows in theor casual games that are tougher than their ranked games where one has a pretty clear rank (a better system than HS has).

But it is probably not worth it to put much time in this game at this time, other than build the bases and keep an eye open about the tourney scene, if they start to put money in there and and build a good tourney system; although I haven't yet even checked what kind of it is, being on the list, but if it is bad, and this being what looks just as much a p2w game as HS, there is a lot of reason to stay away from most part, just being ready if things turn good, and if this game is really as good as I have seen so far, then maybe, depending on what happens on the ccg scene, especially at the tourney arena, but there is also a new ccg every year coming (and decentralized poker next yer), and if one does not keep the eyes open, one might hear about it when it has been there 1 to 2 years already, or maybe even longer.

Esports scene and money has however been increasing basically every year by now, so there is much to be expected on the arena of ccg also. Although nowhere near what poker offers at this time and even the biggest money games like Dota 2, has the money mainly in the very biggest tourneys, and it is very difficult to impossible to get there. Even HS offers a better shot for it and it is a major long shot, and one does not even need a team.

This is the cheapest CCG to be competitive in by far, so I have no idea what you're talking about with P2W. Also, the format is fast as **** right now so I don't know how anyone can think it's slow.

Yeah of all the complaints you can make about this game, saying its p2w isn't one of them. Yeah if you want a top tier control deck with 3 copies of epics and legendaries its going to be expensive, but you can easily hit legend within a ~month from starting date with $0 invested

I purchased the starter packs and I think arena tickets in open beta and I can build pretty much any deck after about a month of playing. You can do 2 - 3 arena runs in a night and get 5+ packs. It's sooooooo soft. I'm sitting on 26k gems and I'm just a few legendaries off building control mage if I want to.

I saw something on the TESL FB page earlier about a tournament but I didn't read the article (for those who are interested in such things)

legends-decks url (or to where it links) has tourneys, that I happened to see when I was looking if this game has any tourneys significant tourneys; they seem free (weekly) and has prize money, but didn't check.

But I have to give up this game before it even got started, as I looked through all the cards and didn't see a too significant amount of big wipeout cards, till I ran into one myself and lost a game I built well and should have won, but then an 8 magicka (mana, power) card wiped my board; of course, there is still a shot to play this less one-sided, but I wasn't playing just one board, and so I figured that the two-bord aspect of this game makes big more or less one sided wipeouts more possible. So, I got close making this my main game, but I fell down to one 8 magicka card.

Why this could have been better than Eternal, is because this game also isn't as much a wipeout game (as one sided -- vs. your units, minions) as HS is, but I prefer one board now. As a bonus, Eternal costs less at this times, although it will get a new expansion every six months and no one knows what the cards will finally become. And I haven't ran into any esports type of good place to play Eternal in tournaments, but at least tourneys run regularly and things progress.

One thing that felt strange vs. the TESL Al (although it plays all kinds of strange things) was that I felt that there is some of the time less control in if one wins or loses, things just happening and there is often nothing one can do about it.

Beat: He's playing some super meme spellsword token deck running a land divided and other crap.

And just hit legend. It's sooooo much easier than HS. I barely had to grind at all. I had 80%+ win rate with mid prophecy mage. I only played that, mid sorcerer, a few games with crusader and random bad market archer lists.

Congrats Feed.

Can you share your list? I've been messing around with mid mage a bit but not ready to really grind it yet. The deck I have tops out at Ancano but it feels like it needs more late game.

I just copied Petamax's list on Legends Decks. You don't need much late game at all. Ancano is basically just extra reach. Marauder is definitely the MVP of the deck. Breaking multiple runes in one turn is usually auto gg.
