Yeah it's wack but the commitment to play an hour long game is too much for me. 30 minute games are far better. And yeah I know a lot of regular games don't go to an hour, but still, being on a ****ty team and having to suffer through a regular mode farm fest is horrible.

nothin wrong with em for the exact above reasons, so many fkn noobs around that i dont want to get stuck for an hour, just rice a lane for like 10 min then get my radi and rape

although it is pretty ghey when u play arem and just play impeccable early game vs/cm/pudge and then have zero shot after 20 min. i've been experimenting with my em roam a lil bit

I used to play a lot of em in the past but since playing the regular mode I can say it is a lot better in my opinion. Overall the quality of players are definitely a lot better in the regular mode. Yes there are still people who suck beyond belief and they do ruin games but there are also people good enough to carry them if you play in the correct league. Or if you are very good you can play in inhouse games or join the higher skill leagues.

I believe a lot of the EM games last around 30mins so I do not see the big deal of spending an extra 5 - 20 mins for most games to finish. Obviously if you only have 30 minutes by all means play the EM game but EM has way too many balance issues in general. Certain heroes and items do not scale well at all which really hurts the game play overall.

This is the primary reason I stay away from EM.

In WC3 dota, the easymode crowd was just so unbelievably bad that I might as well have been playing against bots.

What's the point of shaving 15 minutes off your match time if the game is boring and you just curbstomp everyone?

EM = pick a "carry" hero and just dominate.

My favorites were Phantom Lancer and Clinkz. The on demand invisibility was all the survivability you needed against those helmet-wearers.

Yea exactly. As a past em player I can safely say anyone decent at the regular mode should easily be one of the good to best em players. I would consider myself a pretty good player and there is no EM game I do not "own" just because it is too easy. Most em players do not know how to cs properly. My friends who play mostly em get completely wrecked in a non em game because of their inability to cs.

People can obviously choose to play whatever they want but if you want better quality games you should try out non em if you have the time.

People don't know how to last hit properly in EM because they don't have to.

Super fast auto-money and no death penalty leads to bad habits.

Meanwhile, my 10 minute Divine Rapier on Clinkz ends the game.

That is true my friends who play EM just auto attack. They do not harass they do not cs yet they win. The game was not meant to be that way.

Playing from regular to em it is unreal how much faster you get your items. I was playing an em game with my friends a few months ago for the first time in probably over a year and I forgot it was em and farmed manta + bfly + HoD by around the 15-18 min mark and was like wtf...forgot it was em lol.

Another problem with em is that things such as ganks and roaming do not produce the results that they should. This takes away from certain type of players and from the style of the game itself.

Most (not all, obv) of the EM players are going to stick to LoL anyway.

That's the casual dota they've been waiting for, and I'm sure they are happy there.

Yea some of my friends already transitioned to LoL. They asked me to join them but i just don't see the point with dota 2 around the corner. I'm also not a fan of the micro transactions of LoL. The differences of LoL and dota are also unappealing. Seems like there are some major unbalance issues in it although I have no first hand experience so I guess I have a bias.

I've been in the beta for about a week now. Game is a lot of fun and they are moving pretty quickly to add new heroes and fix bugs.

The beta is still pretty small. 400 concurrent players is about the most i've seen

Didn't they only add Kunkka, BS, and Jug since the tourney? I am not really sure if adding three heroes in two months is quick since dota has so many heroes they definitely need to pick up the pace. How often do they update to fix the bugs? Every day? Every other?

Also, I wish they would have added heroes that actually reach competitive play first since they recently turned ESWC and SMM into dota2 tournies. The limited size hero pool really hurts the competitive play. Certain heroes in dota2 are "OP" since heroes who counter them are not available.

Yea, I can't wait for some sort of banning draft type mode because some of the heroes are super annoying to play against in the current meta (anti-mage, furion).

I guess I was basing my "moving pretty quickly" only off of the past week and the previous week's patch notes, so my sample size kinda sucks. Didn't realize they had only added 3 heroes since the tournament

Well I believe they only added 3 heroes since the tourney, but yea like you said I think in a 7 day span they did add three heroes which is a lot. I assume they are working on most of the heroes at the moment and some of them take longer to implement obviously so maybe they will have more of these short bursts of additions.

The game plays basically the same as the original right? Did you just need to adjust to the new UI and feel or was there anything else different?

I really just want to play bad. I wish they would start the open beta already.

They just released Stealth Assassin. Seems like valve really is getting the ball rolling with adding more heroes recently.

One or two a week means you're still 6 months to a year away from all of them being implemented.

Yea but it is a lot better compared to adding 0 new heroes for nearly 2 months. Also there is supposed to be at least 2 new heroes in the next regular wc3 dota patch. I wonder if Icefrog will try to release them in both games simultaneously?

I haven't played -em in many years but this can't be right unless you're also godlike or something at that point. Or maybe they've changed -em in the past few years.

I do not think pl was added yet.

It is not that hard to farm that in em giving the correct circumstances. If your team is better which is not that hard given the fact that basically everyone who plays em does not know how to play CORRECTLY. You should easily be able to average 6+cs a min if you know how to last hit properly since you will never be harassed.

In em towers are significantly weaker. If you pull a single creep camp I believe the tower will lose around 1/3 of its life? I may be wrong about that i have not played em for a while now. Since the towers will die quicker you get more gold from that. It should be pretty easy to last hit towers as well since your team only auto attacks also. You should also be able to counter gank quite easily since the players are not very good which just equates to extra gold.

The difference in gold is quite ridiculous to be honest. If you are a competent player at the regular mode games just join an em mode and see how fast you farm.
