I didn't see any of their group stage games (I guess they were never on main stream?), but it was awesome to watch a team step up and way outperform expectations on stage in their first valve event.

Favorite game of the day was still the VP v. VG.J with those unreal vac + static storm + crush combos.

as much as I love watching VP and want them to win, I think IG is winning this tournament. they are just so poised and well rounded, and most importantly, dependable.

Could some1 provide a brief description of monkey king and what he does, and is used for? Is he like a roaming/offlane hero? What does the other team see when he is up in trees? Hidden from them or can they see him if he isn't in fog

edit - nvm read the wiki and i think i get him now at least enough to follow. Seems like he some parallels to riki, both are like nuisance roaming heroes that you have to be considerate of at all times, even their ults seem kinda similar (mult. attacks in an area). he seems like he would be extremely hard to get away from if he is chasing you down in a 1 on 1 situation

Bah. Was two great games. EG is clearly just about the 3-4th best team in the world. And I don't know how they get over that hump.

EG looks exactly the same losing there as they did winning last night. Lol

Thinking more about it. Crit really is the issue. RTZ didn't play fantastic but by no means did I walk away from any of the games going "he lost it." Crit had so little impact. I think on the 2-3 Rubick games he had maybe one good steal(he stole black hole last night and did nothing with it) and that was overgrowth in that last game. Why he kept picking Rubick for himself i dont know.

1-3 on Rubick. He played 5 heroes at the major, Rubick, CM, Tree, Io, and Warlock. Went 4-0 when picking Tree/CM, 1-5 when picking anything else. 0 Lina picks for Sumail in the major.

I can't be the only one watching the finals of a major....

I love how outclassed OG looks. Can't fear the TB if you just own him in lane and then control the map from there. I dare say ana has looked very weak today, he got decimated in lane by sumail and was able to rally due to EG mistakes and right now he looks extremely questionable on his Invoker.

Has batrider done anything this game outside of just kill a warlock after its way too late?

LOL. And then that happens. Missed RP bottom and two more bad engagements. Game over. I take back what I said OG. Notail and S4 are just way too good.

I don't watch much pro dota (nothing outside majors/TI really), but I thought Ana played extremely well. That ember spirit jump play was sick in Game 1 and in Game 2 he positioning and play on the TA won VP the game. Yeah he had a weak laning phase but I wouldn't classify all his success due to EG miscues.

Ana was MVP of the EG series, saying he looked bad is crazy. He obviously got crushed in lane but he had terrible matchups and his recovery was incredible - saying it was just due to EG mistakes is way underselling him.

As for that game 1, that was an incredible comeback. One whiffed RP and a phoenix egg surviving on 1 hit completely turned the game. OG did well not to get run over before that and their ability to keep lanes pushed out/prevent pick-offs turning into objectives is pretty much unrivalled.

I wrote out a long post but felt it was just a pointless endeavor. I'll just say, ok I was wrong.

Lol. OG looks to be in complete control on their way to another major title.

I've been watching a lot of the games, but the time zone difference makes majors on the other side of the world harder to watch live and discuss. Looking forward to watching OG - EG replays.

OG has looked in control in these 2 games for about 10 minutes after a whiffed RP that led to them winning game 1.

Yeah even as an OG fanboy it's pretty lol to say they've looked to be in complete control. I think they have a decent advantage when it comes to late game decision making/team fighting in this matchup but they're having to do it from behind.

I think my Ana dislike comes from his overextending. It has led to some awesome plays today but he has essentially died for nothing or a support kill at critical times, once in EG game 2 and again in this last game. And this last game was much more egregious as it was outside his base during a siege and he had no buy back. At least the EG game one came just out EG's base after EG buybacks and objectives taken. But I really feel watching that OG is just so solid in the other 4 positions that ana is able to do whatever he wants rather than ana really dictating anything.

Don't worry. OG is in complete control.

What was the expectation even if he steals the aegis? Force his team into a teamwipe?

Edit: Guess that's dumb of me to say. Steal, die and ball out is best case scenario.
