exactly , terrible mentality

in pros no one is a troll , no one is intentionally feeding, people will listen to the captain

its just so different with 5 randoms

Well the game I was referring to was a regular match making game. I have no idea if the team was a bunch of randoms or if they were an arranged team. The point is they did not give up and eventually won. While I do think a FF feature has some benefits it also brings out bad mentality in people. In some of the league type games I played in the past you needed 4 of 5 votes on your team to FF. What is stopping the people who want the game to end from just feeding themselves to the opposing team to get that 4th FF vote?

If valve set up two different match making leagues where one was allowed to FF and one wasn't the two leagues would obviously contain people with different mentalities.

I could see a FF being plausible if the best person on the team was able to decide whether the team would FF or not, but how would they grade who is the best? An elo type system? Surely K/d for that one game would not be possible since people have different roles.

I personally feel that a lot of times it's the people who are not as good or feeding who WANT to forfeit or want the game to end just because they know they are doing poorly. They feel like they have no shot at winning so they just give up.

Or maybe because it's more fun to start a new game than spend 30 minutes turtling around in your base waiting for the other team to make a huge mistake so you have an inkling of hope to win when in reality your equity went from 5% to 10% and you will still lose.

EDIT: I know I sound like one of those whiner douchebags who say "GG" when the score is 0-3 at 10 minutes but I have 150 games so far with 1 abandon (ISP issue). In league, I have 1200+ games with <10 abandons (ISP also). I don't like to surrender but sometimes it is painfully obvious that the players on your team are not skilled enough or have already given up, which makes staying in the game really boring and pointless.

I was just saying that what you did is somewhat standard, and hardly considered a comeback.

not an insult or anything Just not comparable to this stuff.

I agree that a lot of games are most likely gonna result in a definite loss because your teammates are just that bad. The problem is score can be very discouraging to people. If they see that the score is 30-15 and they feel like they are really far behind they will just "end" the game quicker. They will throw themselves at the opposing team so that they push quicker. Some teams start off slower than others. They may be more team oriented such as ravage or bhole. Some of these teams if they win one fight at lets say 40+ mins you should be getting raxes if the fight goes well. Unfortunately you won't win the fight since your team gave up

I didn't have many chances of going 1v3 at the very start of the game to compare it to. If a lot of other people were doing it also I guess it was than. ( I played solo, 2v2, and 3v3)

My alt has less wins and only played a few times so its in lower bracket. If I play on main, I drag you up to higher bracket and you guys prob won't have a very good time and prob wont have any fun.

I can attest to this.

Went 15ish-0 with a totally new to dota friend for his first 15ish games and he proceeded to get curb stomped for the next 10 games solo until his record evened out a bit.

I was at my brother's house a few times and played games on his account in the low brackets and it was an absolute joke.

People bitch about the MMR system (myself included) but it certainly does something right.

I never have leaver games anymore when I solo queue, and people are generally okay. Plenty are bad, but moreso on the decision making than the mechanics of it all.

I can attest to that being ******ed. The games are better the higher you go, and even most of very high is filled with feeders and griefers so you need to go as high as possible. People who are stuck in high or even normal bracket would love an opportunity to play higher than that. You not wanting to lose by queueing with weaker players is ok, but admit it.
