Finally got to play a couple games. Love it so far. My main problem is still camera issues -- I feel like I can't see enough of the screen. I hope they add UI scaling and something that lets you toggle the top bar on/off. Gameplay is solid. I do get significant lag, anyone else experience this? Not unplayable but annoying.

I also know why ancient apparition is banned all the time now lol. And huskar seems broken too. Don't know when or why they decided to make his ult a blink strike.

I have 2 invites. Prioritizing anyone who will give me tix on MODO, anyone offering any other sort of money, people I know off the forums that will play with me and then other people off the forums.

Played 2 games combined between monday and tuesday but I just played 4 just now. The game definitely feels much easier now. I still prefer regular dota though. The new graphics are nice and all but this camera is just ridiculous. I wish there was some way to let you control the UI to make it like it was in the past as an option.

The last game I played I was able to farm a 17 min rad on Doom which I guess means I am getting used to the game but I am still definitely having some problems.

SF feels unbelievably slow. I used to barely miss razes but the one game I played of SF I missed quite a few. His turn rate and just overall AOE of the raze seems smaller but I doubt it is. His ult is still cool and Insoo was a witness of me pwning some noob.

Overall in the 5 of the 6 games I played people bought chicks which was new. I think 2 of the games people actually bought wards. 2 of the games there were more than 2 carries on my team. All in all, that is a good sign than the normal pub games but it still has room to improve.

Most of the people also seem a lot nicer besides this zeus in my last game blatantly KS'ing me with his ult when the guy is clearly dead from my doom + rad. He also just follows me around nuking the large creep camps and goes around saying "how mad are you?" like some dumb douchebag.

I can't offer much, so I'll be bottom of the list. But if you got a spare i'll take it

Just won a game with him, I went 4-0-12.

My build ended: Ring of Basilius, Power Treads, Desolator, Vanguard, Iron Branch, and Yasha. I had so much money I didn't know what to spend it on. After the Vanguard and realizing I had the ability to do a lot of damage I got the Desolator.

Fun match. Wasn't even close. Game ended 25-7. haha

I couldn't get the quick buy to work. I don't know how? I put the item in the Quick Buy box, but then what? I still had to walk back to the shop and then cancel the quick buy and manually buy like I always do.

EDIT: Nevermind. Went back and reread this thread. Mine was set as ' and didn't know that. I changed mine to one of my thumb buttons on my mouse. I'll have to try it out again.

If anyone knows, could you tell me how Static Link works? It says "Creates a charged link between Razor and an enemy Hero, stealing damage from the target and giving it to Razor." I was using it and seeing a static link, but I don't know what it was doing.

I played a game of razor before. The static link changed a bit. You used to just cast it in a certain area and it would hook onto one of the enemy heroes. In dota2 you have to cast it much closer to the enemy hero. This means there is less room for margin of error.

Anyways basically you just cast it on an enemy hero and every second they lose damage and you gain that damage (at level 4 it is a huge amount). After a certain amount of time it breaks and you will eventually lose the extra damage and they will regain it. Another way the chain will break is if you and the enemy move too far away from each other.

Razor is meant to be played as a carry tank. He is very mobile so you cast your ult, use your link, and utilize his fast movement speed to attack + move.

So you link, then ult, or use your Q? Link first to take the damage? I don't know. I was using it thinking that it caused damage to them, but I don't really know what I was doing.

What do you mean by "you gain that damage?"

Basically every second the link exists between the 2 heroes Razor will gain +28 damage (level 4 static link) and the opposing hero will receive a -28 damage on their raw output. After the link breaks, you will have 10 seconds or so of the plus damage stolen added onto your auto attack. I believe the enemy has the negative damage reduction still as well but I am unsure about that part. The spell is extremely strong if queued up for the full 8 seconds. The problem with the spell is some heroes such as AM can just blink away and break the link.

There is no correct way but Razor's ult lasts a long time. You can get at least two Plasma Fields (the nuke) in the duration of the ult. Plasma field does more damage the further the enemies are so that is situational. Static link is a good skill to use when you know the enemy hero isn't going to be moving around much such as large scale team fights when everything is a mess. It is also very good when you are lets say at 30% health and the enemy has 80% and they think "this guy is an easy kill". You throw that link on them and kite him for a few seconds and you should be able to kill him. At level 4 after 4 seconds you are talking about over +100 damage on razor and -100 damage on him.

Just played a game of pudge. I think this was my 3rd time ever playing pudge in all of dota so I was not expecting much but I was able to carry this team of noobs. The hook seems a lot less glitched in this game. It doesn't do any strange pathing or pick up random units sometimes that should never get hooked in.

This ES was ridiculous. He was waiting for me to die before stunning I think because he wanted the extra damage from aftershock from his fissure to kill a unit at 10% life (normal fissure would have sufficed and saved me)...no idea what to even say about that.

Finally starting to get used to the UI but I just accidentally bought back with 5 seconds left after waiting 75 seconds which almost cost my team the game lol.

Well HoN was supposed to be the dota clone. IceFrog was picked up by S2 before going over to Valve.

The games are similar, but you gotta decide if you prefer coke or pepsi. Me? I played HoN for a while but prefer Dota.

I think both games have balance isssues. New heroes I don't mind too much, but the thing is, they release them as early access heroes which you can play earlier with gold coins...
