That's the kind of stuff that I need to figure out by playing. I didn't really know what I was doing. I was in some battleground, Isle of Conquest I think, and I teleported outside into 4 horde. I was immediately unable to move and died in short order before I could try to figure out a way out of it. After that happened twice I ragequit and said "**** pvp".

I'm sapped during the poly process. We did this once (I managed to trinket, BM/salv wall, and BoP his blind) and the mage just deep froze the warrior while the rogue finished making me bubble. =/

Also, PVE trinkets are by far the worst PVE gear in arenas and should be removed first. DBW and the rotface trinket are just insane. They should ban ALL pve gear from arenas and just create 1 extra set of pvp trinkets - maybe resi passive with AP/SP on use.
I say non-trinket PvE only because useful PvP trinkets don't exist. Especially if you're a human and can't use the 150 resil one.

It's sad that in this day and age people do fall for it, but people do fall for it.

I can see maybe a little kid that doesn't know too much about computers falling for this. Maybe a 7-10 year old kid.

Through MMO champion I know the upgrades that i need, but getting Frost badges is so slow that it's almost painful. I get on and do the dailys, but after that I'm kind of bored with it. My mage does decent DPS, but to upgrade him properly I'm going to need ~200 frost badges. Painful grind.

I decided to start playing my alts again. I made a rogue, and it seems pretty cool. I like the style of slice and dice, but I'm not sure how solo-able he's going to be. I'm going to try to play him to 20 and see what happens. He has one BoA dagger right now. I'm either going to make him dual daggers or dual swords to level, I haven't decided. I like to jump on my priest and heal a random dungeon or two just to burn through the rested. She's 34 now and hasn't been outside of Stormwind since 19. She's specced Discipline, and has a couple BoA pieces, so healing with her is a breeze. I absolutely hate the paladin style of play. Generally I like running around with one big two handed weapon and just smashing stuff in the face. That's what I loved when leveling my warrior, but it's really not as fun with the pally. I tanked Gnomregan last night until we got lost and people started dropping group. Oh well, it was good for rested at least.

Other than that I have a 63 DK that I haven't leveled much. I'm trying to level his herbalism up to 300 before I use the dungeon finder and quest too much, so that he can start leveling it while he's in outland instead of having to come back there later. The DK style is definitely interesting. I like the idea of him being the most solo-able class out there (in Blood). I'm not sure on his rotations quite yet. I don't want to be another just terrible DK out there. I've been queuing for BG's with him so I get some pvp experience - good way to learn a class.

I levelled my rogue combat-swords and it was a joke. Blade Flurry, killing spree (eventually), etc etc just made levelling so easy. I used the two boa swords which wasn't optimal since you should aim for a fast offhand, but I didn't really feel like it held me back at all.

**** it, i'll unfreeze my account tomorrow.

If anyone wants to play on mal'ganis, just let me know. I'm down to play in pretty much whatever level range except 80, as I didn't play much in WOTLK and my main is 75 IIRC.

I'm on Mal'Ganis. My main is Benine and my alt is Betwelve (66 now I think?).

Add me! Haven't been on the past week or so though because of school/SCOOPTOPS.

@ dudes on big servers

I am considering server transferring to one. My schedule (and whimsical desires) mean that I can't commit to a steady raiding group, so I've been thinking about going to a high pop server where I can find pugs for anything anytime. HOWEVER, my concern is general douchebaggery of people -- like trade chat spam and finding profession people. Also I wouldn't know anyone, except maybe 1 or 2 people. Servers I have considered: Skullcrusher, Blackrock. (I know Blackrock is probably one of the largest).

Anyone have comments for + and - and why they like/dislike high pop servers?

I am on a superhigh pop server and there is really nothing bad about it. There are guilds on server that raid in mornings, afternoons, (most) evenings and in the middle of the night. There are 10 and 25 man pugs every day but the best ones go on friday/saturday evening when good guilds make their altruns.

When ICC came out the first 2-3 weeks the reset evening (EU - wednesday) wasn't raidable until about 22.00 because of lag, but that is about it.

I don't get your concerns. Trade chat spam can get annoying, just have it turned off and only look in the trade chat pane when you need it. It is really easy to find a JC cut or an enchant, 1 min tops via trade.

I used to play on a pretty high pop server (Frostmane-US) and everyone on the server was just a complete tool. It's the reason I left for my current server (Maelstrom-US) and I have been on this server for nearly 4 years. It's a medium pop server, it's not that skilled -- think we only have like 5-6 guilds that have killed normal LK-25, and the top guild is ~P3 heroic LK (3 nights a week raiding) AFAIK. Everyone is for the most part pretty friendly and helpful though, which is why I have stayed for so long.

What I meant by douchebaggery is trolling, ninja looting, spam, elitism, griefing, kicking people from groups for their friends/guildies, etc. This was all extremely rampant when I played on Frostmane

Well yeah. Ofc if you are going to be on a server with 10 times as many people on it there will be 10 times as many ninjas, trolls, etc.

P3 LK25 hc is pretty good btw.

I play on Skullcrusher ally side. I would strongly recommend not transfering here if you are Ally, since we're outnumbered almost 3 - 1 in active accounts by Horde. However, if you're Horde, then its definitely a very happening server on that side.

One thing I'd warn about is; it is an older server, and can be pretty unstable during peak times (Tuesday nights). Although it hasn't been nearly as bad as of late.

Holy mother of god, I was just reading all the patch notes I missed ( I last played after the dual-spec patch ). THEY CHANGED EVERYTHING FFS! AGAIN... zomg, seems like I have to learn everythign again for my poor druid.

And I'm only at patch 3.2.0

Hellscream is a pretty good high pop server. Trade chat can get a little weird at times, there's a mage named Jasst that has apparently been one of the super-weirds since vanilla. But I usually turn trade off unless I'm looking for something specific. There are a lot of guilds, many actively recruiting for ICC runs. You can pug almost anything - there have been a lot of groups doing Ulduar hardmodes lately. It's one of the oldest servers, but it recently underwent high maintenance (right before 3.3) and it's been awesome, hardly any lag - even in Dal.

Holy crap, wow changed quite a bit in the last months the new dungeon finder looks incredible

Gotta weed through all the change logs and find new specs for my rogue (43 lol ) and my druid ( 73 lol again ).

Also thanks for the UI, it's truly awesome.

Rogue, level as combat swords.

Druid, you can do whatever you want because all 3 druid specs are ridiculously powerful.

Well, that's actually a change from what I remember weeeeeeeeee

Druid nerfs/buffs are a rollercoaster.

As for the rogue, awesome that combat swords is good. I have two swords with crusader ( IIRC ).

I'll finish configuring the UI, try to understand more stuff that changed, play a round of MW2 and then jump into random dungeons

You wanna talk stability?

There's only 5 servers that aren't up yet, mine is one of them. =(

The other 4 start with a G.

I feel like I wasted 40 badges on the balanced heartseeker now... Seriously, why is using swords better for a rogue than daggers? The whole point of having +agility/hit/crit/etc. daggers in the game should be so that rogues can use them! Who else is going to walk around with a dagger? My mage uses one but the thing has spellpower on it. Are druids or hunters or something walking around with agility daggers?

EDIT: I suppose a cat druid would want one....

Those stats are what is valuable at max level. Leveling is all about what kills the quickest and allows for the least amount of downtime.

Hunters use 2 daggers w/ agi enchants all the time, doesn't really matter what type of melee weapon they have.

It just makes me sad inside that daggers are not the optimal way for a rogue to level, that's all. Fortunately I have a low level hunter, so I'll have him use the dagger instead.

They can share the BoA chestpiece
