Stack +HP items as much as possible, overlevel in areas you know you can handle, don't play if your connection is bad, always have potions on hand, spec for defensive skills, etc.

So for the installation process. I downloaded the 7.6 gb file. I tried to install and it got stuck so I re opened it and now it's downloading the remaining ~8 or so gigs. Is this how it's supposed to go?

I predownloaded a few weeks ago but it wouldn't work for me, others had problems as well. I just deleted what i had and regot the downloader from my bnet account, deleted what I had, and downloaded everything fresh, was like 8'ish gigs, took like 1 hour maybe, installed fine. There's still plenty of time to do it from scratch if anyone is having difficulties.

I had a huge problem when downloading the client. took me over 10+ tries to actually get it to work. A bad connection where u are constantly disconnecting and reconnecting was a big problem for me when downloading.

installing goes smoothly though

I figured it out. Apparently it's just a different download client. Instead of sound and story text it just looks like the beta client installer. ~50% done.
