So about 1AM it was posted that Boon of Protection was being hotfixed (Monk) due to it being 10 times stronger than Blizzard wanted it to be.
They essentially nerfed it to the point of removing it.
And from that same post they should have a list of the hotfixes out by today or tomorrow...not sure what 'tomorrow' means based on the time of the post.
They also say:
Quote:
"Let me follow up by saying that in general class balance is an ongoing investigation, and by no means do we believe the game is now perfect, but we're also seeing evidence that supports (with a few nerfs to wizard and demon hunter) the monk and barbarian are not as bad off as they seem."
Seriously? Not as bad off as they seem?
I could be out of melee range of a mob and still get hit because of the lag. They can't say that melee classes aren't struggling, but maybe things change once you gear up towards the max. I don't know.
But then he says:
Quote:
"Maybe we're wrong, maybe there's no current chance for monk or barbarian to compete with ranged, but our current suspicion is that's incorrect and until we know for sure we're not going to turn any dials."
Yeah they know....
But I guess their intended purpose for the Barb was:
Quote:
The concept of the barb is that he survives through a huge health pool, and healing himself through damage (%life on hit stats), which is potentially a bit obvious with all the life return skills but can't be overstated.
Which makes sense except that in my experience my %life hasn't scaled very well, but then again I just hit inferno and have suckass gear.
But it's still the same that the seeming lag that I get -- sucked back into the mobs, being out of melee range and still being hit -- doesn't help you at all with %life when you're not matching that with damage, so I guess the real way to play the game is to build up a huge health pool, get some %life on your gear, maybe some resistances, add all your +life abilities, and just stand in there and whack away.
