Peaked around GR33 with my DH Unhallowed Essence Multishot build. (Around the same place I peaked in season 6 with Whirlwind Barb). Finally got a couple new sets and was able to move to a grenade build. Much more powerful now. Did GR45 in 11 minutes. Still leveling my gems to try another variation on the build to hopefully get it higher. Grinding away to get the last weapon I need for the cube, then I can make the push for GR70. Hopefully don't need perfect gear to get that far.
It says to prioritize Int 3rd in Paragons for Primary. Does that mean I just keep putting points in Int? It doesn't have a cap at 50 like the other stats. In other words, do I never put any in vitality or should I balance it out?
After a week off, I tweaked my demon hunter build. I was stuck at GR50. But now I'm up to GR60 using a grenades build. But I stalled at GR61 (failed twice trying to complete it). Will probably try an impale build to see if it's any better. Rumor on the street is that, while the grenades build is better if you have optimized equipment, the impale build is better with sub-optimal equipment.
If it's not any better, guess it's just more grinding and re-rolling my equipment.
When I last played demon hunter, I felt like impale was much harder to equip than grenades. I did bink a pretty good ancient weapon for grenades, but much of the rest of my gear wasn't remarkable, and I could push GR 70.
I tried the Impale build. It seemed to be more powerful, but I kept running out of discipline. And eventually died so many times that my armor broke. Then I realized that I had equipped the wrong belt. I put on the right belt and did a GR61 in 10 minutes.
I still had the wrong gem in (Bane of the Trapped instead of Bane of the Stricken). And I was using Shadow Power wrong (constantly casting it, not realizing that the set means it only needs to be cast once). Was also playing it wrong. Apparently, you only go after elites and ignore all trash mobs at high GRs with this build.
So I'm thinking GR62 or GR63 should be possible without any upgrades.
After playing a few levels with the correct build and playstyle, I think GR 70 is a definite possibility. Got through GR62, GR63, and GR64 with very little trouble (didn't die at all). Though it does take a while (I'm doing them in about 10 to 11 minutes) Sucks that I can only go up one level each time I try one, though.
Finally cleared GR70. Just needed to enchant some of my pieces to get better stats and was able to complete in 13:30.
I was . . . underwhelmed. There isn't even an achievement. Don't really get acknowledged. If I didn't know that primal ancients can now drop for me, I wouldn't even know that GR70 had any significance.
The set dungeons are so annoying. You spend hours grinding to get the best equipment possible to kill mobs as efficiently as possible.
Then you get to a set dungeon, where you're forced to depower your build by a huge amount and play completely differently than you have to get to where you are.
To take the Shadow Mantle dungeon for example, you're forced to use the shadow skill over and over again to slow mobs down, even though the entire point of the Shadow Mantle set is that shadow is up "forever". You have to remove your quiver, also. The quiver gives you two free knife throws, which is great in the entire remainder of the game--but counts as a miss in the set dungeon, resetting your counter (you have to chain 20 shots together.)
Similar thing with the Unhallowed Essence set dungeon. You're supposed to get 20 enemies in a single shot. Which means that, instead of killing mobs, you have to run around and hopefully get 20 mobs together, then shoot.
i played the season for about 3 days then went back to ns. no point in grinding hoping to get the gear i already have
definitely getting slightly bored again but at this point upgrades are so rare and far between. mostly been playing in 4man grs for paragon and gem upgrades, usually with friends from asia so the time difference doesnt help but will be doing 130s now and pushing gems higher
Heck the mobile game isnt even made by blizzard... its a chinese company who almost copy pasted the diablo 3 stuff onto their 4 year old popular mobile game...
