Little over the top much?
Just because you link an account electronically doesn't give them the right imo to just pull out money from your account without approval.
Treated as separate transactions, anyone would get pissed by what amounts to an unauthorized withdrawal.
Agreed that was over the top, but for obvious reasons paypal just needs to reverse the transactions as soon as possible, while the money is still in their system, not ask, wait, hope, then try to reverse bank EFTs, etc...
I'm sure the agreement you signed with them authorizes them to do this too, it is not some random unauthorized withdrawal, and I do think the majority of the people who would have a problem with that were hoping they could just keep the money.
When people accidentally have $1 million deposited in their bank accounts and they go on a spending spree, they are breaking the law even though it was the bank's mistake initially. This is why banks just take that money back right away too, they don't ask nicely and hope you don't get greedy. The bank does not make an "unauthorized withdrawal" of $1 million from those people's bank accounts, they are making a correction which is within their rights to do so. This is the same.
