With not joining a faction I was just looking for the quickest way to get a weapon or 2 that is above 20 and didn't know if they dropped ever during bounties, strikes etc. So far that hadn't happened so while moving up in levels my armor was dropping slowly with better non legendary drops, but no weapons...thought I was doing something wrong since grinding to vanguard rank 3 would take a while. I was in the same position as you. It felt like I wouldn't ever get good items like everyone else b/c I don't play Crucible. I'm still behind most everyone else at the same level but at least I'm starting to get good drops now. Just keep grinding and you'll eventually start getting good drops.

I didn't get my first purple weapon(AR) until level 24 and by mid level 26 I had gotten a sniper rifle and machine gun. I'm saving up my Vanguard marks to buy a rocket launcher.

Something I've noticed over the last few days is it seems like I get blue engrams a lot when getting an "unusual" kill on a baddie. I got 5 of them last night in about 20 mins just by sneaking up on Dregs/Vandals and shooting them in the back of the head. Over the last 2 days I've gotten 3 full Cryptarch levels just from doing that.

I am only about 150 points from vanguard 2, and have about 80ish marks so I am close to at least being able to start buying the gear from the seller in the tower if I choose so. It was just getting frustrating trying to help out two higher level guys in strikes around 24 when I have to unload a full clip or close to it to down a regular guy while they toast them much easier. I'll keep grinding for sure and even though it is sort of crappy I have the ps4 mic that works for teaming up if anyone wants to join when I am on s/n spimp13 as I don't do pvp, only bounties, strikes, heroic etc. I prefer to team up and kill some sht.

Hmm... what lvl are you guys? We could possibly get some groups to power some people through Nightfall. Free weapons/gear!

spimp, I had the same issue. Took me til I hit around level 26 to get my first purple weapon drop. Then got another one within 5 minutes. Both were secondary weapons.

Got my first purple primary about 4 days ago at level 27 or 28. Since then, got another 2 primaries.

I'm level 28, on the verge of 29 now and I still don't have a purple heavy. Got my eye on a weapon from a vendor to get my first one.

I was 29 and didn't have a purple heavy... it was horrible. I bought one... then found the same exact one minutes after from Nightfall. Now I have found a few more heavy's since then... pretty crazy how it works.

I have noticed that out of the ordinary kills tend to spawn engrams.

It sounds like basically just gotta keep at it with the bounties, strikes, heroic, maybe nightly if I get leveled up a bit and I will get there. I don't have a ton of time to grind enough working a full time job plus other things going on, so I was just curious what other pve players were experiencing. I would like to be at least level 27-28ish before the DLC comes out to be prepared for it so I have some time now. It does get a bit tedious grinding out the same bounties over and over though, but it is what it is.

I'm level 30 and so is Hoya. Really hoping to get raid gloves to have 4/4 raid armor so I can swap out different exotics.

We should get a group of some of the low level folks in this thread and power-run the raid on normal mode this week. 3 level 30s and 3 of whatever the level minimum is should still be pretty easy to get a quick run through in.

I'd be down for that depending on how long it takes and what time we started. I'm level 28.

Going to work at 7am sucks. This time last year I was going to bed about the time I have to be at work now.

I hope so, but I suspect it might be an effort in futility tonight Everyone but me I've tried to play with tonight reporting tons of "Monkey" disconnects, very frustrating and would make raining unworkable to lose someone every 2-3 minutes. For some reason I haven't seen it once, I wonder if it's a problem with their USA datacenter or something (if they even have it split up geographically like that).

I got disconnected twice on Xbox

I had a much better connection before the fixed the connection. Dropped 3 times running trying to get into crucible.

I haven't had any DC problems yet tonight and hopefully won't.

I'll be doing the Daily in about 15 mins if anyone wants in.

I dare say connection issues are resolved? Been running with rgdts + friend earlier, now disko and no monkeys to be seen so far.

For some reason I could barely hear you 2 talking but I heard 1 of you mention the wall. I tried to watch where you went but you disappeared too fast and I couldn't figure out how to get behind the wall. I know how to do it now. I wasn't sure what I should do b/c I've never played from behind the wall before. I thought if I started shooting it would mess up what you 2 were doing. My strategy of turning around to see where you 2 were and then getting killed from behind worked out perfectly.

Not that it matters now but if the roles were reversed I would have done the same exact thing you 2 did. Sorry I was absolutely no help.

Oh no worries man. I felt bad we left you alive and I started and stopped on the attempt to get you like 3 times. Was just hard to do anything except hide and peek around the corner to shoot the nexus.
