cliffs: don't start Destiny, use Games & Apps tile from the Xbox One home screen to monitor progress. try turning xbox off and on again (I saw two people report increased speed after this on neogaf)

Odd question: Does anyone know what the FOV is set to in this (specifically on Xbox)? Borderlands 2 gave me vertigo-like symptoms due in part to the FOV, and I'm worried about destiny doing the same. I think a lot has to do with frequently looking around vertically in BL2,as opposed to regular FPS games that are mostly horizontal movements. I've played shooters for 20 years and never experienced what I did with BL2, but that **** is intense.

I think my only complaint is that the gun models are very large and it ends up blocking kind of a lot of the view.

I don't really know, I don't suffer playing it at all and I'm not really familiar with different FOVs - but I have seen a fair few usually PC gamers post complaints that Destiny has a "very low FOV". Whether it's as low as Borderlands 2 I have no idea, but if you're sensitive to it I should think it best to play the Beta and test for yourself before purchase. Also there is no shortage of gameplay videos on youtube now, but perhaps the effects are worse / not noticable when you don't have control yourself?

It's actually a higher FOV that causes the issue, so that's good to hear. Borderlands 2 on PC has a setting to lower it, but console versions do not. Watching videos doesn't cause it either, but I also haven't watched any gameplay on my TV. I'll definitely pre-order to try it out, I figured Destiny would be my catalyst to scoop an Xbone

I hear it is only rated Teen which isn't a good sign for mmorpgs due to limited content, chance it will be very repetitive very quickly.

Maybe I'm just out of touch with gaming, but that seems like a strange assumption. Cursing and gore is the only way to add content?

Game is pretty OK, better than H3 and Reach for sure. They combined a lot of elements from different games and I think it works well. The voice chat system is complete AIDs.

After playing the beta for like 5hrs I don't think I'm going to buy this game.

I really could not care less about customizing a given character in any game, and this game basically makes you do that with different armor/gloves/boots/everything which I hate. I just want a basic avatar and to play the game. It tilts me to no end to have to care about wtf I wear or if I don't change it I have an inferior set up. I know I am in the minority on this.

And I'm to used to Halo MP. I don't like the controller options for melee or crouch and yes this is the beta there will be more options but for now they suck imo. And I hate vehicles, I just like "normal" combat vs other people. Seems like most MP maps have them?

And am I the only one here who doesn't think this game looks that great? Obv it does not look bad just not breathtaking. I really think Last of Us looked better on the PS3.

Halo had the "vehicles are so stupid" problem repeatedly, bbungie loves that for some reason.

PvP is good but word to the wise, only sniper rifles, shotguns and assault rifles are actually useful.

Do not, under any circumstance, use a pulse rifle. It is terribad.

Agree that voice chat is atrocious.

A good scout rifle is decent in pvp, depending on your style. Fusion rifles are amazing tho. Cydonia-AR3 (autorifle) + Fusion of some sort is my usual setup, or Jikugu (scout) + Fusion or shotty. LMGs also. Agree on pulses, but will prob run with a pulse rifle for at least some tonight to try give another chance. I can't snipe at all well with actual snipers, but scouts are good for me! Also under no circumstances use a hand cannon, they're just a poor version of scout rifle for now.

It's been speculated the awful vehicles / moon map is being playlisted so much precisely because people think they're bad and Bungie wants most feedback on them. No idea if true or not but kinda makes sense, The other 3 maps do not have a vehicle IIRC, and imo are all superior. However you'll only see the moon/venus outside of the "Iron banner" events, which are going on today and tomorrow. Last time I found that much better (level advantages enabled! and different maps, both good ones).

If you don't care for fitting your character, just go by the numbers. bigger number = better. Nothing else matters until you get to green uncommons with differing bonuses.

I think voice chat is handles different on PS4 and Xbox? What are you guys finding atrocious?
