Is that Crucible match making always so lopsided or was I the only 12th level Hunter playing this morning? Being half the level of everyone else isn't much fun.

Yesterday I noticed my team was always level 8-11 and the enemy team was all 17-22

OK so further to my post yesterday, I just conducted some research by running House of Devils Lair (Spider tank, Sepkis Prime) on level 20 vanguard - and swapping about various weapons mid fight. I am currently level 26 so no enemies encountered should be having damage mitigation against me on this mission due to their level.

I recorded it so I can check out the numbers in a bit more detail later, but in short Attack value of your weapons makes a HUGE difference in PVE content!.

Previously I had been not particularly bothered by attack value - I'd upgrade it of course when it unlocked, but I'd for example prefer a level 18 autorifle with nice stats / bonus to a level 20 (with the higher attack) but worse impact and the like - this is a bad idea! (unless the stat difference is truly horrible and you can't control it's recoil or such)

Low attack weapons with nice stats / bonus are still very valuable for crucible, however.

the disparity in levels while playing crucible are not relevant at all, levels/gear matter during Iron Banner

That's true for levels but only partially for gear. Damage is normalized but high level gear still has all its perks.

ok so if i have like 600 armor and someone else has 300 is it equalized in crucible?

Yes, think of it as in normal Crucible every weapon has 100 attack and every guardian has 100 defense. (numbers made up)

Weapon class, impact, RoF, stability, bonuses matter still.

I'm glad someone understands this game b/c all I've figured out is I need to run around shooting things while trying not to get shot.

I have only been collecting currency, haven't spent anything. Plan to at higher levels

Get to level 20+ then worry about gear. Also, don't decrypt engrams before level 20 as they somewhat scale with level.

I got from level 6 to level 22 playing crucible over the weekend. Bounties make leveling easy in Crucible.

Going to get a ps4 and join in the fun soon.

When you get an upgrade that says "this weapon can be used fully automatic", how do you equip it?

You probably can't spend it until Friday - There's a strange vendor who appears at the weekends in the lower area of the tower near the vanguard mentors and crucible vendors. He accepts strange coins, and does indeed sell outrageous gear! You'll prob be level 20 by then, which is required to equip the exotic gear he sells. I bought some glowing gauntlets with amazing stats for 13 strange coins

Arc isn't needed, but strongly recommended for sure. it's a +300% damage boost to all arc damage dealt - so the shanks and vandals hit super-hard. It's good to be able to one shot them right back! I got rocked first time I tried it, hour+ of fail When CPHoya and I did it a couple days ago, it was easy enough with him handling the mobs with an arc shotgun, I focusing the bosses with an arc sniper.

So hit level 20 - how do I level up more? I have like 660 armor/20 light if that makes a difference.

Hoping to be able to play with some of you guys soon right now I almost always have a full 3 as some of my friends are loving the game as well.
