I'm in Chicago, was able to get on all day yesterday no problem.

Doing a Crota's Quest, how the hell do you melee a cursed thrall without dying in the process?

If I'm on tonight, i'm down for a full raid

If you are talking about that bounty step go to the worlds grave. Kill the thrall and leave the cursed thrall. You can knife one and kill it without dying but it will leave you close to dead. There are 2 cursed thrall in a tunnel about halfway through the level that is perfect for this step.

If you are high enough level you don't even need to do that, just make sure there are no other enemies around and give yourself time for full recovery.

Wanted to test myself to verify, and just did:

Top Tip! the Eris gloves you get for completing the Urn quest will re-roll stats and perks every day on reset. So if you don't like what they offer, or are after a particular one - just dismiss them when she offers and check back next day. Only level 31 capable but still, a set of gloves with [your fav weapon] reload speed and your preferred int/dis/str mix is pretty decent for free, for use in crucible if nothing else

I failed to do anything last week, but I think I will have a place to play most of the day so hopefully I can get enough done today to last till Saturday which is the next likely day I get to play

ive gotten 2 arms, P&T, hunger of crota, universal remote, black hammer, and dragons breath, and boots from the last raid. along with various shards. only done the raid maybe a total of 4 or 5 times?

Yep - once per character, per week. if you've already had it it will still show up, but give no loot
