So you're saying on the first part, go get my souls where I died and then run back out, farm 1-1/1-2, then eventually go back in and redo it?

Or just do 1-1/1-2 with my souls left in 2-1, and don't die along the way. haha

Secondly, still though, any suggestion on a soul level to go back to 2-1? I don't want to have to grind out a soul level of 50 in 1-1 if I will be able to get more souls in another level that will give me more souls since the increasing cost would not be very efficient to farm 1-1 when it costs thousands and thousands per point.

I think I may just go back and get my body since it wasn't that hard once I stopped f'ing around. My sword, I think it is the Scimitar (sp?). I believe I'm either +2 or +3 on it. My sword seems to be weak as it takes a ton of hits to kill the guys in 2-1.

Third question, what is the difference in Strength and Dexterity other than the falling damage? Looks like they do the same thing.

The latter is a spot that you can talk yourself into, "cuz it's just 1-1" but get cocky once and you find yourself dead, out those souls, and on extreme tilt. Go get em back right away unless it's a insignificant amount.

As esnow mentioned, these guys have a high tolerance to most physical attacks and fire, but are weak against piercing weapons. You can pick up a Short Spear from the dredgling vendor at the end of the 2-1 bottom level fwiw, spears are fuuuun.

I've been using YouTube, type in "Demons Souls 1-1" and look for RE4freak4. I can't say for certain that he does the higher levels, but his videos for at least 1-1, 1-2, and 2-1 have been very helpful, along with the boss fights.

I was trying to use my Rapier, but it wasn't doing much either. I have some kind of Spear, not sure the exact name, and that wasn't doing much either. Probably need to farm some souls and upgrade it?

My sword has been doing more damage than my piercers so I was just using the sword.

You def. dont need to be soul level 50 to beat 2-1, the boss IS tricky tho, I mean you dont have to be that strong, but he can be tough to get through, or gave me some trouble.


I'm soul level 36, and i've beaten 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 4-1


but also, for farming, honestly, the intro part of 4-1 will be WAY better for you to get some quick souls than anything 1-1, 2-1 can offer you, i'd suggest going into 4-1, killing first skelly, 2nd skelly, skelly+archer, 2 skellies, going left (avoiding trap), and killing the 3 skellies on (1 warrior / 2 archers), and then rinse and repeat, you can do it really quickly and you get 200+ souls for each (1800-2k souls), so obv much better than farming 1-1,

BUT, 1-1 has a pretty good line too, and you can get some grass while doing it,

you wanna go up the shortcut to the left (w/the fire skellies) right from the start of 1-1, so go up the pillar, kill the blue eyes knight, you'll get like 2x half grass, and then go all the way to the other end of the battlements (top of the thing), and kill the red eyes, I think the whole thing gives like 2800 souls or something like that, and a bunch of solid grass.



But yea, 2-1 boss was tough for me, I think if your an archer it may be way easier

I remember after going out of 2, getting a spear and coming back I thought I was gonna own the ****ers, but it still took a bunch of hits to knock em down, piercing stat helped for sure but go with whatever weapon works best in your arsenal obvs.

As for upgrading a spear, if you've played with it and like it, go for it, they're an awesome weapon imo, great distance, high damage, you can play super defensive with them, I definitely felt like it was the optimum weapon for me in a lot of spots in the game, although they're not as flashy or free feeling as swords.

The difference is that some weapons scale with STR while others scale with DEX. Both are often requirements on some weapons as well.

Also, I never used a pierce weapon, I just used the R2 attack of my sword and think it crushes ;p


I havent been using any walkthroughs, but I have been using the demon's souls wiki to find out what I need to get the upgraded weapons and what zones the enemies or merchents drop or sell what I need for upgrades / unique weapons

wow im farming well like this, every cycle takes about 4 minutes

lure the red knight out in the main balcony (where the crossbow guys are), go far enough so the red knight walks back toward his starting position, you can get 3 clean hits in his back

I just started a new game as a thief, I did this right after I beat 1-2, and I'm two hit killing the 2-1 trolls with it.

You got a +7 bow and a +6 axe already? Damn you can grind

haha yea, just crushed lurker and have both, but not enough strength to 1hand the axe , ill get it up to 30 tomorrow though =]

just beat Tower Knight, completed 1-1 and 1-2. Soul Level 28, is that high for what I've finished? Did a bit of farming.

This is the best game ever made. Got to love the Japanese

I'm Royalty, at only SL 26 and have been doing some farming for the last hour so I would say 28 is pretty high for what you've finished. I did 1-1 and 1-2 without farming.

I went to 4-1 for souls and all I have to say is **** those ****ing ****s. Rolling around like monkeys on crack. I died a few times, never twice in a row, but it's frustrating. I'll go back to pwning the red eye knight on 1-1 for 2k souls.

And I just want to add that this game is infinitely more fun when you can crush the life out of everything, like in 1-1 after raising your SL.

Solid if you're built around Faith and Luck. I was never one to rely on miracles (past Evacuate, which might be the most useful spell/miracle in the game), but it seems like it's a strong option for those builds.
