offline mode all day today.

Thinking Cleric might have been a poor choice. Start with 3 endurance, 5 dex, 4 adaptability, and 11 strength isn't even enough to use your starting mace. And I'm pretty sure the mace is terrible (slow and no range). Unfortunately, i haven't come across another weapon I can use with my awful dex (could add 1 and get the broadsword).

On the other hand, those heals are really nice. And my starting robe looks sick as hell.

I've basically gotten walked thru the little bit I've done via messages. Like directions to exactly chests and how to get down that pit. Things like that.

Edit- XBL was fine for me today. I joined a party so it made me go to offline mode (which now doesn't kick you to menu!!!!!!).

The thing I don't like is sometimes I think it automatically puts you in offline mode and you have to go to the menu to get back into online mode. I'll try and summon someone or they will try and summon me and it will say failed and then I won't be able to put my soapstone sign anywhere until I save and quit to the menu and reload where I am

It should tell you and you won't be able to see people's notes too.

Yeah, I am a little confused about this as well.

Beat the first boss.

Spoiler:
Was disappointingly easy. Attacks are very easy to see coming, he only does 1-attack sequences, and he has a very long recovery time. I did die once and used 3-4 lifegems + estus because lol me

Gave me enough souls to level enough to play around with:

So I had read that you need 1.5x the weapon requirements to go into "power stance" (hold triangle). Looks like L2 now does a double handed attack (double damage I guess). Still playing around to figure out exactly what's going on with this and if there's any benefits to main vs off-handing your better weapon. Looks like that 1.5x requirement also rounds down, because I'm able to dual wield a falchion w/ 13 str (9 required).

Not an amazing benefit tbh. BUT, personally, I'm not a big shield guy in general, I'm not really digging how underpowered it feels in this game, and I love rolling anyway, so I'll probably go with this dual wielding thing for a while.

Goal coming into this year was to play live poker at least 30 hours a week (LOL USA1). First week I've missed this series is incredible. SL 75 atm and kinda feel like I'm plowing through it now - think I might have went backwards or something because the last two bosses I've fought have been cake compared to some of the earlier ones.

Are the servers better yet? I'm hyped to put some serious time into this this weekend.

I'm on 360, I think they've been having more problems than PS3 judging from Namco's twitter, no updates since yesterday though.

I lost all my human effigies and now I can't fight this boss in the lost bastille. (The single one with the big sword) I had him down to four strikes with full health and I rushed in and thought he had three strikes to kill him and left myself open with no stamina and he 3 swiped killed me with no health left. Where can you farm them?

I don't know about farming effigies, but you can restore your humanity by helping other players win boss fights.

@ Zimmer:
Spoiler:
I'm like an hour past you, so I remember this. He gave you the soldiers key. Try doors nearby that had previously been locked.

LOL has happened to me after a few bosses.

Also pretty sure I've found DS2's Blighttown. You guys will know when you get there for sure - two different areas that are absolute hell.

I'm already at 50% maximum health from that first damn ogre I couldn't kill. Game is rogged. I think I have two effigies but don't want to use them too fast since I read in a review that they're far and few between early on.

Fixed by rebooting if anyone else runs into this.

Ugh, I was online for like 20 minutes after booting and then got kicked off, can't reconnect now.

Was pretty hilarious seeing all the bloodstains around Majula while it lasted.

Is anyone else a little annoyed by the camera sensitivity? Compared to DS1, it feels like the camera reaches maximum movement speed at a closer distance to the center of the stick than before. If I set the sensitivity too low then moving the stick all the way to the edge doesn't move it fast enough, too high and the slightest movement sends it flying.

This "losing some max HP each time you die" thing is really annoying. Combined with a.) estus flasks starting off at 1 (one!!!) capacity, and b.) the fact that healing now takes even longer to kick in after using it, I'm dying a ****ton and the fact that it's no longer a freeroll makes it feel a lot less fun than DS1.

Do divine blessings re-up my HP to 100%?

Entire world is covered by unbelievable amounts of bloodstains right now.
