When did the DLC come out?

How many more hours does it add?

And any word on the sequel?

Still one of the best games ive ever played.

The rules are; I can only use NPC summons when available, (not that i would be able to summon many players at SL1 anyway...), i also have to be able to fast-roll (be under 25% equip burden), obviously i cannot level up, i may also use rings to boost attunement slots for more pyromancies but no havels ring and no ring of favor and protection (same goes for mask of the father etc). Lastly, the only weapon i will use besides my pyromancy is the hand axe (starting weapon for pyromancer) which i aim to +15 at some point.

So far i've just beaten ceaseless discharge and i'm about to do Sen's (probs just gonna speed run it). I may use red tearstone ring for some bosses.
I thought reinforced club was the weapon of choice for s1 playthroughs.

it probably is, the main reason i didn't choose it was because it was a little too heavy for me to wear the armor i want and be able to fast-roll

Also, you sure that +15 is better than lightning in this case? AR calc shows that 2-handed, the +15's AR is 250. Max lightning's AR is 400. Even taking into account the split damage resistance problem, that's a pretty big difference.

You should do a sl1 calamity run afterwards for true heartache

I've just beaten Quallag, and kind of confused as to where to go now, do I have to truck all the way back through Blighttown to where it opened the castle or is their somewhere I should go down here first(that will take me to the castle a different way)?

You need to get to the bonfire in undead parish above blacksmith andrei. Take the waterwheel up from the blight town swamp to exit the area. You definitely do not need to trek all the way back through blighttown and the depths.

Spoiler:
There is a shortcut in blighttown to new londo ruins where you can take the elevator back to firelink shrine. On your way back from Quelaag you should see some revolving platforms on the left. Take those up and there will be a series of ladders leading up towards a tunnel with 2 or 3 of those fat club wielding guys. Past them is the valley of drakes and a shortcut to new londo

There are some potentially useful items in the great hollow and the area it leads to. How useful somewhat depends on your build. Don't venture there without curse resistance.

Yeah lightning would definitely be way more powerful for sure, as would fire. Not sure why i didn't include those as options in my other post... either way i'll definitely use those upgrade paths if i feel inclined, i'm not ruling them out.

However, pyromancy on its own will probably be enough to beat most of the game so idk how soon i'll get round to doing it

Just took out the iron golem, sif and O&S. Hella tempted to start putting souls into other stats now that i got my pyromancy glove at ascended +5 lol

Which pyromancies do you use, Great Fireball and Fire Whip?

I've actually mostly been using combustion x2 and great combustion (had the darkmoon seance ring equipped for the extra slot)

For bosses and slower enemies i'll usually use chaos storm/great combustion or great chaos fireball/great combustion for my 3 slots

The DLC was included with the PC version that was released in August. It was released for the consoles in October.

It adds about 5 hours of content but what's there is very good. Well designed areas, new enemies and new spells. The boss fights are the heart of the DLC. All four are challenging and fun to fight. The dragon is arguably the hardest boss in the game.

So I am about to enter what I'm pretty sure is the final dungeon. So I'm just wondering, should I triple kindle a bunch of bonfire for new game + before I enter the place? After you beat the game do they drop your char somewhere so you can do extra stuff?

This game has absolutely blown me away. I can't stop playing, and it's not easy for a long game to hook me like that these days. Hard to believe that I almost quit after being frustrated at the beginning of the game.

Yeah I'd kindle some bonfires. Also do all the farming and upgrading you want before finishing the game. NG+ drops you right back at the beginning. All blacksmiths lose whatever embers you gave them.

So, in other words, after you beat the game you can't access the world you just beat until you make your way back there in NG+? So I can/should kill friendly NPCs as well, unless my conscious doesn't allow?

Also, I was also wondering about the DLC and whether not I should do it before I beat it.

Do the DLC first, else you'd have to repeat the steps to access it in NG+, and the game enters NG+ as soon as you kill Gwyn.

As for offing NPCs, I think you can use the Dark Hand's R2 attack to suck humanity from them first, should you be so inclined. Don't quote me on that though, Chester is the only NPC I've killed across multiple playthroughs.

Yeah, starting NG+ resets the game world. You lose all keys except the master key.

Npcs drop their humanity however you kill them. So yeah, kill a few before starting NG+ if you want their humanity or items. They won't remember. But if you're just looking for humanity, one of the dlc areas contains the best farming spot in the game.

The only one that is kinda intriguing to me is Gwyndolin, since I kinda want to experience dark Anor Londo for a second. I guess maybe the fire keepers too, since I only got 3 on this playthrough, but that would be kinda mean.

put this in spoilers in case others didn't check a guide for some of the cool hidden things in this game

If you're a magic user, killing gwyndolin unlocks a useful helmet. You buy it off one of the merchants, the one you first encounter in the depths.

Artdogg, do turn Anor Londo dark, you just need to 'kill' Gwynevere, the giant lady with the amazing chest (one arrow will do it). Gwyndolin is the optional boss in that neverending hallway.
