VattiVidya (a youtuber with phenomenal DS and Bloodborne lore videos) has a pretty cool new vid with some new gameplay.



couple notes:

*Bonfire teleport available immediately, like DS2 (not liking this)
*Soul Memory is gone
*up to 6 person multiplayer
*Soul Vessel returning to re-spec your points (love this)
*Weapon will break more slowly than DS2 but faster than DS1
*Charged R2 attacks for power moves

Yeah, boo to teleport. Getting trapped forever in the catacombs is a feature, not a bug!

Looks like they didn't watch MathewMatosis' critique of DkS2

Catacombs, Blight town, Ash lake all benefit greatly from not being able to just come and go. You are trapped and really have to fight to get out. It was annoying but it also created tension and dying had a meaning and consequense. The fav areas from DS1 are pretty exclusively areas that you reached before you could teleport and some part of it is that they took effort to reach and therefor you apreciated the exploration more.

I really like DS1's balance of no warping at all for most of the game and limited warping towards the end, that's really the way to go IMO. At least a LITTLE backtracking through tough areas is something you should be forced to do/dread. Really helps create a more immersive world. I don't want it to feel like I'm doing levels in Mario. In DS1 you're forced to plan out and think about the routes you take.

Easily one the best / my favorite video game areas of all time, hands down.

The atmosphere, the layout, the architecture, the enemy design. It really did feel like you were in this disgusting subterranean hovel city run by little mutant freaks living deep under the actual city. The fact you could SEE the bigger city above and it's support columns and what not, just amazing design. It's like, where does all the garbage and **** and waste from the city go? Well, down below and now you're down there. And yes, you were TRAPPED there. Once you saved there, you were f'ing stuck there until you could survive your way out again.

2 more months. This will be the first Souls game I've played right at release, so will be interesting to be lost or stuck with everyone else.

Always tell myself I'm not going to watch promo clips/early live streams for The From games and go in completely unspoiled but they're just so damn good and I get so hyped for them that I can't help it.

Yea I also feel like that since the Dark Souls games involve such a long process of figuring out the lore - unlike a movie where it's kind of just a one-and-done event - it makes learning/speculating/viewing content beforehand a little bit more ok.

I have never been made so angry and broken by a video game as i was by dark souls 2. When i end up buying this one i wouldn't be surprised if i end up in a mental asylum

I am playing the DLC on Bloodborne and then I will probably play Dark Souls II one more time before this one comes out. I stopped by Best Buy to pre order it. I am excite

The only truly rage inducing boss fight I've had in all the Souls games (and BB) is the Capra Demon in DS1.

I probably wiped on it like 30 times. Hell even today it can own me.

Although pretty much every DS boss I've ever died on when there was no visible HP left on its health bar is a special sort of soul crushing.

This is basically a weapon arts showcase for a few different weapons. This looks to be a pretty amazing mechanic.

WOW that is easily the best DS3 video I have seen to date. The anticipation is becoming painful.

Just picked up a preorder copy for 40 bucks off cdkeys. I've heard other posters using it to get Xcom 2 and having no issues. Pretty pumped and I'm about to order a controller too for the PC, heavy breathing.

Its getting really close now...

VaatiVidya Dark Souls 3 Playthrough

I think gameplay footage is going to start to explode now, which is where I'll stop watching it.

But now that it's March, we're 1 month away from being in the same month as DS3 coming out, woooooo!

Yeah there is gameplay for almost 2 entire zones out now. Lots of location spoilers and NPC spoilers. For anybody thats not weakminded as i am its probably better to stay away...
