Starting to think this should have been TPS instead. Combat is quite underwhelming.
The story and the world is very impressive though.

Anyone play on the series x yet? Curious to see how it performs. I’ve seen reports that it’s terrible on the Xbox one and the series x version is not enhanced for the x/s... it’s just the Xbox one emulated version

Much simpler being a woman, I always pick women to play as. I'd much rather look at a woman than a man all day.

Errr, do you mean RTX 2080? Like the last generation card, ~2018? Of course it will run fine.

Didn't really know anything about the game going in(intentional). Plays like a fallout game but pretty disappointed in the game world in general. The neon lights and city look pretty enough but the AI is awful. There's a ton of stuff I'd expect to be able to interact with that you can't. Game world feels more hollow than GTA5 which is what 10 years old at this point?

I had to run on low settings to get a decent framerate(have a 1060 I wasn't expecting much) but the game still looks fine. Looks better than the PS4 version by a good bit. Haven't had a crash in ~10 hours.

Hoping for some quality of life improvements for this game with the coming patches and DLC. Performance aside still feels like this game needed another 6-12 months.

Yeah the AI is disappointing. I went down an alleyway, got into a gunfight with some yakuza and afterwards, when I went back to the main street, there were approx. 30 people crouching there with their hands over their heads. Every one was in the exact same pose and wouldn't move.

Can only assume that playtesting found so many more, game-breaking bugs than the ones I've found after playing for 4 or so hours, so they couldn't get fixed before launch.

i really dont play many games; just a few games a lot, which even that has gone way way down, but so far it hasnt grabbed me, made me wanna sit and play all night. probably only ~2 hours in but i feel like all i'm doing is FFing through conversations and watching cinematics..

the driving seems so strange.. using outside the car view, is it just me or does the camera wait WAY too long to turn with the car? i just crash into walls cause i cant see whats to the side. from in the car you can only see forward

only "bug" ive seen is dude walk into a closed elevator door that then opened for me. started playing on 4k ultra but it wouldn't work for real gameplay and being turned irl is uncomfortable, 1080 ultra runs perfectly fine on my normal screen. idk.. gonna get through it eventually and hope it picks up

Have had a couple more crashes but the ratio isn’t too bad. What does suck is that it resets my settings each time. I’ve had to stick to inverting my verticals and my sensitivities. Quite a lot to remember if I tweak everything too much.

I do enjoy the game quite a bit. The world is amazing even though it’s not as interactive as I’d hoped. It’ll last me a long time which is great. A little here and a little here should make it last as long as it takes for something else to come out. And I have no idea what my next game will even be.

I watched a twitch player climb up on the train tracks and ride the train around. I was entertained.

I'm putting all my points into looting perks and crafting but I haven't looked into how any of that stuff works yet.

Played a bit more. Good eye candy and I can see how someone who likes hoarding would really like this game but some stuff is just jarringly annoying.

I haven't encountered many bugs but my dude stood up on a bike with no pants for no reason a few times. Even with 3900x and RTX 3090, there is noticeable frame lag once every few minutes that just made it impossible to immerse myself in the game.

Overall, I do not recommend.

If it’s anything like The Witcher 3, crafting will be a hot mess.

CDPR officially offering refunds for PS4 and XB1 consoles. on PS4 at least you actually have to call the psn phone number and wait on hold forever

Agree with those saying it’s unifnished: while the graphics (level design) and backstory are top notch, the AI and bugs just break immersion far too often. Glad I didn’t pay full price, but can not wait to play this sometime next year after a major patch or two... back to Rocket League!

I am still trying really hard to like this game but I just can't.

I feel like its only redeeming quality is graphics... but even in that department, the game has some immersion-breaking issues (way too much clipping, micro stutters frequent enough to be annoying despite averaging almost 100fps, textures clearly with less manpower invested than textures surrounding them, and too many other things to count). These issues wouldn't feel so bad if rest of the game didn't feel so... retro. The NPCs feel like they are straight out of JRPGs from the 1990s or low budget user made Skyrim mods... they are just that dumb.

Feels kinda weird they chose this state to release it in. Like, when they delayed it from November -> December, that's a pretty firm statement on their part that they think the game is almost done and just needs a little more polish.

And nothing says "wow, we sure missed that mark" than refunding disappointed PS4 buyers. Like, when they decided to delay again past November they could have easily added a couple more months, but I guess they really wanted to hit holiday 2020.

lol how do large video game companies still not have proper NPC AI in 2020. that kinda **** is inexcusable.

also this. **** them for releasing something that is broken. they probably had hundreds of testers, no excuse...

It's absolutely criminal they didn't do a proper last-gen/current-gen split development in like early 2019 once it became clear that the PS4/Xbone couldn't handle what they were trying to get it to work. Or they should've just aimed for the technology that it was developed for and just really made a great lower ambition last-gen game then released a current-gen update next fall.

Rockstar absolutely cleaned up with GTA5 doing that.

The fact that had it not been delayed, there wouldn’t even be next-gen. No one would’ve been able to play the damn thing....

Because even heavily funded, cutting-edge AI think tanks don't really have decent AIs yet. It's really not surprising that videogame AI hasn't progressed much.
